Having arrived in Florence just before midday we needed sustenance and some nice wine as an introduction to two busy days in the city. We found Le Volpi e l’uva on TripAdvisor and it seemed to have reasonable reviews, it was also near to the Ponte Vecchio where our hotel was located. It is a short walk over the bridge... More

This is an excellent wine bar, with knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. The wine list is superb, and accompanying food was delicious. It's also in a lovely spot for sitting outside on a sunny day!

I have been coming here every time I am in Florence for 15 years. For me this is "home". In every sense of the word. I know that the staff can recommend for me a wine that fits my mood, my party, my whims and all within my budget. More than anything I appreciate their serious approach to the love... More

Wonderful enoteca, Apparently Emilio , Riccardo and Ciro started their business in 1992. We spent two weeks in Florence in March 2017 and stopped by several times. Great atmosphere, people and food and wine. We did join he wine club and the wines that were delivered were interesting and a great value. And yes, we really enjoyed the crostone with... More

Firstly, I have to emphasise that if you are in a hurry, on any sort of schedule at all, or need to stay completely sober, do not come here - it took us an hour and a quarter to get something to eat by which time we had had one more glass of wine than we had intended (this is... More

Really nice wine bar with a pretty good selection of whites. The Salumi platter is very good and big. This place is located on a small square just off the maddening crowds close to the Ponte Vecchio. Really peaceful considering how close it is to the crowds. There is a good laundry right across the square.

Went here to sample some Tuscan wines. Not much English spoken, but enough to provide me with my desired tasting flight of three delicious reds. Accompanying crostini a great light lunch. Worth crossing the river for!

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
