There were 6 of us staying 4 days in Florence and ate here twice so that says a lot. The owner and staff are so friendly. Our second dinner we asked the owner if he would serve us family style as he would his own...More

We are here for our last lunch in Florence after visiting the Uffizi galley and last minute shopping. I had the tiny gnocchi chicche that had a gorgonzola, pear and walnut sauce. Hubby had rigatoni with ricotta and squash blossoms and tomatoes. Both dishes were...More

This restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel on the Piazza Firenze. It always appeared empty, but we decided to give it a try. It is a very small bistro. We had the “pici al pommodoro”, a caprese salad, and a pasta with...More

The food is the reason to go. The gentleman that took care of us was very nice and truly wanted us to enjoy our meal. But I believe the waiter is also the owner, and he is bussing tables, etc. So if you are looking...More

Looking for great food and at a good price? Here is your place. Nothing too fancy, just really good traditional food. We had the melon and prosciutto antipasta, with carbonara and lasagna. House wine was good, and the largest pour I have ever had. All...More

Third time here. Very handy for the Bargello and less than 5 minutes’ walk from Santa Croce. Very relaxed place, less touristy than others around, and looked after the kids very well. Melanzane alla parmagiana outstanding for only €8.50, and great house wine. Thoroughly recommended.

This place has more of a house feel than a restaurant feel. You enter the hallway and hang right where there is a room with tables and then a second room with tables. There is nothing glam or fancy about it. There are pictures on...More

I make a point of dining here every year when I visit Florence. Located directly opposite the south wall of the Bargello, il Barroccio is a small restaurant serving fine Tuscan food in an environment that manages to be both elegant and unpretentious at the...More
