This place is a little hidden away behind the Uffizi. However, it is well worth looking for. It has all you favorites on the menu. On this evening, we started with the Pappardelle Cinghiale (wide pasta noodle covered in a rich sauce made from wild boar) and Tortilla mugellani all cream di Tartufo (filled pasta covered with a white truffle... My parents recommended this restaurant after they traveled to Florence more than 30 years ago. They said it was amazing and it truly was. We had a cheese plate and fried artichokes as antipasto that was divine. Then we order pasta and ragu and the crepes florentine that were amazing. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. Totally recommend it... More

We were drawn into this restaurant by the fragrance of the steaks being grilled. We were lucky to get a table as we didn't have a reservation. We were seated family style at a long table which was nice as we were able to chat with other diners. We were 3 ladies for and we enjoyed the osso bucco, roast... More

Came here for lunch. Only the truffle pasta was good. Everything else was mediocre. Service was terrible and slow by italian standards. Never again

We were walking the streets of Florence seeking a restaurant that we thought we would enjoy. We passed Antico Frattore and looked at the menu. It was exactly what we had been looking for. We both had the special which came with a glass of wine, a sampler os Italian meats, roasted potatoes, a 3" T bone steak, and dessert... More

My husband and I (a retired American couple) have traveled extensively through Italy. We love Italy, the people and the food. After being seated at the shoulder to shoulder restaurant the waiter took our beverage order. My husband then asked for bread and olive oil. In a loud voice the waiter began lecturing us," You are not in the US, here... More

We ate here for our first meal in Florence. The antipasti we ordered were quite good. The mains were nothing very special. Two of our party ordered the Florentine-style steak to share. There were two sizes for this T-bone steak...1 kg for 1-2 people and 1.2 kg for 2-3 people. They ordered the 1 kg size, but received (and were... More

We've been here with my friends a couple of times. First time we had a dinner. We had ordered Florentine steak. It was delicious! Tasty, juicy, and more than enough for three persons. The next time, it was lunch, we've ordered some tortelli and tiramisu for the desserts. Everything was nice and served fast. The staff at this place is... More

My friend and I came here while on a break during an all day walking tour. The steaks were delicious, and service was fast, without being rushed.

Description
A typically old school Florence trattoria, Antico Fattore is an original taste of the city's history, dating back to 1929. In this era local creatives would flock to Antico Fattore on a Wednesday to be fed by proprietor and local character Giulio. Giulio may be long gone, along with many of his historic patrons, but the convivial Antico Fattore atmosphere remains. In this old building, where an original wooden beamed ceiling remains and modern design is only of fleeting concern, guests continue to flock to enjoy lingering glasses of wine, intelligent conversation and superb Italian food. The renowned recipes have been handed down and remain as much part of the restaurant's history as past patrons.
