This restaurant is 10 feet from our B&B. The B&B did the reservation. A place of superb service, excellent choices for all parts of the meal, and great selection of wine, what you would expect in Florence!. The ambiance is hopping with everyone moving fluidly throughout. The kitchen is visible from a side dining area and it was fascinating as... More

Our hotel the Portrait Firenze recommended this spot. Flowers were on our table, a bottle of champagne and the staff were overwhelmingly extra special nice. Our waiter I believe his name was Mario gave us Top Notch service. When it came time to pick a wine with our meal. He led us down into the wine cellar to choose our... More

Very good food! I had the Veal steak, recommended, which was cooked to perfection. My had the chicken, sorry don't recall the name of the dish, but the sauce was fantastic! This is an intimate setting and we were able to strike up a conversation with a couple next to us, newlyweds, which made the meal all more enjoyable.

Already entering the restaurant keeps a smile on your face. The decoration is absolutely unique. The owner told he and his friends painted the walls with a lot if wine "helping"🍾🍷 The stuff is professional and full of fun. This restaurant "breathes " happiness!!! And the food?, special the homemade pasta! Heavenly!! I don't say it often, but this place... More

We had a really good meal here. They do some unusual dishes, like the Veal with Avocado and Truffle Cream. I particularly enjoyed the Magnifico Tagliatelle, with a citrus flavour, from the Primo Piatti section of the menu. A little expensive compared with other places we visited.

The place is really nice in a central location. I was wearing just casual clothing and was perfect for the place. Waiters are really kind and the food was excellent. We had a salad with arugula , parmigiano, palm hearts , tomato and it was really good as a starter. Then we tried an outstanding eggplant parmiggiana and pasta with... More

We arrived very late so our hotel booked the restaurant for us - we arrived and were able to skip the queue because of this! Food was amazing - we only had one course each but the spaghetti al vongole and seabass dish were particular highlights. Good house red too. Would definitely revisit!

This dinner was the most mediocre of all the meals we had in Rome, Florence and Cinque Terre. While it wasn't bad, there are plenty of other restaurants that far surpassed this. This was not on our list of restaurants and when the hotel was unable to book a table at the one we wanted to go to, she had... More

For me a good italian restaurant is the one that combine great food, service and atmosphere, Gargani has the 3 of them. Its the only restaurant, after a 10 days experience in Florence I wanted to go back. My last dish was Pasta with Bottarga, if you like seafood pasta with good balance in flavors this should be your choice.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
