Pepo was recommended to us by our hotelier who said it was his favorite place to eat. On his recommendation we ordered the Ribollita and Trippa because they were more traditional Florentine dishes. Truly good food and lovely service. We even returned another night and brought friends for a special farewell meal on our last night in Florence. Menus available... More

We discovered the Osteria Pepò by chance on a Friday night, while wandering through the streets around Florence's Central Market in search of a place to dine. It was past 10 pm and we were hungry, when we were attracted by this small restaurant, almost empty by that time. It was a pleasant surprise. The Osteria Pepò is a no-frills... More

We found this place by accident and had fantastic food every time we returned. Five days in a row we had dinner at this lovely clean place. Every choice on the menu is a winner, Peposo, a beef stew cooked in Chianti melted in our mouths, spahgetti with clams, fantastic, Tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, amazing. One evening we went... DIner: Came back for diner the second night. You know there is a certain comfort in quality food. in a town that thrives on tourism it is nice to be impressed by the food and service and feel like a local. first night we had the Osso Bucco and Bistecca the next.

Possibly the best food we ate in Florence. We were a little late for lunch but, they accomodated us with charm. We didnt manage to explore the menu much and what we had was fantastic. Well worth the walk to get there. It had a unique twist and was incredibly fresh in it's flavours and style. Would definately retunr to... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant--just a few steps from our hotel--TWICE during our very recent visit because we liked it so much. The food is lovely, straightforward, and high quality, and the service is friendly. (What a lot of people seem to forget is that in Italy, diners aren't rushed the way we are in the States, and... We wanted to avoid all the overly touristy restaurants that might not alway serve fresh, tasty food...and we came across this lovely restaurant and decided to try it because we took it as a good sign we couldn't read the menu. The food was not only delicious, but definately value for money. Traditional antipasto and ribolitta was gorgeous. I will... More

We stayed in Florence over New Years Eve & our B&B/Hotel owner reccomended this place to us for our New Years dinner. We couldn't have picked a better place. The food was amazing, the staff were excellent. This place' rank position should be higher than "96". Well done all at Osteria Pepo for making our New Years eve celebrations so... More

We were in Florence for 4 nights. All the restaurants offered the same items , pizza and pasta. We were looking for a restaurant with great service and some authentic meals. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and informative. Great Wine selection as well. I especially loved the fried vegetables in a tempura like batter and the Tuscan... More
