My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place by chance, its a few minutes walk from the Duomo. We were welcomed warmly and the atmosphere was homy, lots of locals! We got the 500 gram steak and spicy tomato sauce noodles- the best food ever....More

This restaurant was right next to our accommodation and was fantastic. The food was authentic and delicious, the service was excellent and the wine was tremendous. (Recommended by the waitress). It was also very reasonably priced. Will definitely return!

Went to the restaurant with my colleagues to try Florentine beef. It was one of the nicest beef I have tasted. Really good portion as well. Antipasto portions as also of good quality and size.

We simply did not wish to eat lunch with a zillion other tourists, but we didn’t want to walk a long distance from the major tourist attractions. Since there is no outdoor seating, I had to open the door to view the restaurant and clientele....More

Great food and service at this trattoria just round corner from Duomo. It's much patronised by local people - all welcomed by the larger than life padrone. Food portions are HUGE - even the starters - the T bone steak Florentine style is 500g minimum...More

We were back in Florence again and had to make our way to Uncle John's. This place is a real diamond in the rough. Nothing much to look at, but once you bite into the veal chop and hear Zio start singing, you'll know you've...More

Don't miss this family style restaurant in the hear of the city. The steaks were outstanding and the pasta with wild boar sauce had delicious and unique quality, reasonably priced. We are still talking about this meal!

This restaurant was recommended and booked for us by apparently a personal friend of the proprietor at our hotel. Our reception was just about warm, my boiled seafood had excellent mussels but virtually uncooked squid, and my carbonara was a) undercooked b) just about warm...More

We ate here twice a few years ago. We had some other restaurants in mind but the host at our hotel told us to give Zio Gigi a try. We're back in Firenze with friends and once again we ate here twice. The food is...More

We spent three weeks in Italy eating in cafes, bistros, high end restaurants, but this was our favorite. While we found good food in many restaurants, this was the most welcoming . It is run by a family and although right off the touristy Duomo...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
