We had pastas that was ok but nothing special The bread that they put on the table was however very dry and tasteless and on the bill they added a "service charge" of €5 on a €20 bill - this is the first place that added so much (most restaurants we visited did not add anything). I bet they do... More

I ate dinner at Hosteria del Bricco a few nights ago and I was very pleased with the food, the ambiance and service. When my friend was seemingly ordering too much food, the waiter told her this and she changed her order. This means he wasn't interested in making money so much as insuring that the customer had a pleasant... More

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant in our search for somewhere to eat, and it was a great find. The best meal we had in Florence. We started with a meat platter, the finocchiona was absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend had the wild boar carbonara, and it was one of the best things he has tasted. My dish, spinach... More

Sitting there and feeling the old world charm permeate. Tasty dishes. Excellent wine selection: by the glass, 1/4l bottle, 1/2l bottle or heck, the whole bottle. Reserve a table or miss out!

Two of us ate an intimate dinner here when we were visiting Florence in October and after walking down from the Piazza Michelangelo. We were also fortunate to have dinner on a night when there was live music. Great wine, wonderful food and a romantic dinner.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends, and it was the good we kept coming back again and again. We broke our number one rule, as there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived, however it soon started to slowly fill. As one reviewer said, don't be afraid to be the only ones there. The menu was in... More

After stopping here for lunch we liked it so much we returned the next day for an evening meal even though it is quite a walk from the centre. Both meals were tasty and well cooked, the service was friendly and altogether it was a good experience. Would recommend if you like good quality simple meals.

Was looking forward to dining here, based on favorable reviews from tripadvisor. We were the first ones there for dinner, but we were the last to have our order taken. Other diner's were offered suggestions. We were simply asked for our order, no drinks, until I asked for drinks. We probably should have left when the other diners got their... More

So it's a weird title but it was a Thursday lunchtime and we were the only people in there. Still the service was friendly and the food was super tasty. Enjoyed the house wine the delicious meat and cheese platter and our traditional main courses. Definitely worth a visit even if it's empty on a late Thursday lunchtime.

We enjoyed a nice dinner at this restaurant. The food was "rustic" but I don't mean that in a deprecating way, rather that it was good honest fare. Decent salads and pasta and frequented largely by locals . Good service too. Don't touch the house white!

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
