Stopping by for a quick plate of cheese and a couple of liquors, we experienced a warm, understated welcome, helpful guidance on what to choose and a sense of comfort and relaxation amongst all those there that evening. Really lovely place to stop and linger over a drink or two with snacks, amongst wines stacked high all around.

This is a great place to taste local Toscanian Wines. Especially recommend Farnito and Barbi Brands. Cheese and Salami Plate is a good combination with great taste

Lovely little wine bar that also sells great artisan beers and cocktails. We would spend 3h here of an evening and have the 3 euro 3 course menu, and although this is incredible value we would still end up spending 50-70 euros as we'd have 5 glasses of wine each! Would highly recommend, although v busy on a Saturday night... More

Nice spot to stop on the way to dinner for a cocktail. They give you chips and olives and if you want more food they have a good aperetivo menu for only a few euro a head.

Nice collection of wines, with a great deal on 3-courses of food to go with it. Our food came late, but was more than made up with a round of free prosecco and an otherwise impeccable and friendly service. Great atmosphere and unforgettably good cheesecake dessert.

The special menu was €3 per head and included a starter of soup, frittata, crostini and couscous, a second course of risotto and a third course of chicken and peas. Three courses to share. Not massive portions but enough for us. And the wine was lovely. Fabulous value for money in really pleasant surroundings. Superb.

Love this place. Probably one of the best bars in Florence. It's cute and immaculately set up and the drinks are beautiful (wine and cocktails). We came here twice and will be sure to be back if we ever return to Florence. The service was great ad well - very attentive and some great knowledge on the drinks and combinations!!... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
