I booked a table through the fork at quite late notice and when we arrived the waiter showed us to a table which was unmade without a decent view and told us to wait. I pointed out another table that we preferred and he said it was for a reservation and asked what time we had a reservation for. I... More

Dear Julia, I apologize personally for what happened, I'm sure what he reported in his review is true. I can only apologise on behalf of the staff and hope that it can give us another chance to prove that besides a beautiful view we also have good service and tasty cuisine More

Excellent service, view and good food! It was a little bit chilly the night we went there, but the staff tried to make us warm. They have good drinks, though their bar tender lacks some knowledge on the drinks and an make only the very basic ones. The food was delicious, though the portions were like in a high scale... More

It's a hidden gem: the restaurant is not even advertised outside of the hotel, the only sign of it is the menu in front of the elevators. Tables on a wooden terrasse. The food was excellent. The portions were small, offsetting the reasonable prices a bit - but it was still good value for money, especially when you count in... More

This ristorante was good with a fantastic view of Florence. We ordered bruschetta which had four different toppings. We enjoyed half of them. We also ordered salmon which was easy to split for two people and was very tasty. We also got chicken which was delicious. When we went to pay we were told we had to pay cash. Unfortunately... More

Ate in the hotel resturant on the last night if our stay and the food was delicious we had the chicken supreme which was lovely and cooked to perfection and my partner had the fillet if beef which again was extremely tender and cooked just the way he likes it. This was all coupled with amazing views of the city's... More

Whether you are looking for an aperitivo or a delicious dinner, the Ristorante Terrazza Rossini in the Hotel Kraft offers a great view of Florence - from Fiesole, past the duomo and campanile, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo, across to the Arno and Bellosguardo. The biggest challenge on my last visit was how to decide - relax and enjoy a tasty... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
