Amazing place for a glass of wine and Italian deli. Recently renovated, they are now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure you check out: crostini, pesto, insalata russa and mozzarelline. Enjoy!

Not very good English speakers but the food is excellent. They have several awards and certificates all around the shop for their wines. Very few seats to eat inside but loads outside. The food is really simple, flavorful and good priced. They sell them by the kilo but you can order it in portions too. Do try the grilled aubergines.... More

Galanti is an institution in Piazza della Liberta' and the food is amazing. Either you have a lunch snack sitting outside under the vaults or just take the food home to enjoy at your leisure. And the delicatessen counter is great: truffle just as a simple example. Great really: I miss it when I am not in Florence.

Excellent food! You can eat there, in that case they heat up the food for you, but it's more for take-away. They have aperitovo on Wednesdays. Limited seating.

On a sweltering day in Florence, what a lovely chilled out place to find ( with fantastic air con )We sat down near a window, to watch the wold pass by drinking one of the best glasses of prosecco that either of us could remember having and at only €3 per glass. The couple who were running Benvenuti's were so... More

Our hotel recommended this place as it was close to where we were staying, and we are so glad we took their advice. Was a bit confused at first as its not your typical type of restaurant, a lot of locals coming and buying take away but you can also sit in to eat. We ordered a few small plates... More

I've known this place for a while and I make sure I pay a visit every time I am in Florence. It's a sort of shop-restaurant with a remarkable wine choice. I usually end up there when walking to the town centre. Since I am not a wine expert, the young guy at the cashier was very helPful in suggesing... More

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
