My wife and I simply love Florence and have visited for seven consecutive years. This wonderful restaurant is an integral part of what makes our stay in Florence so wonderful. The owner is a prince of a gentleman who has hired a wonderful and friendly experienced staff. Apart from the great food the location itself is breathtaking; and if you... More

We happen to dine there while in Florence. We searched for a restaurant out o the main touristic streets. While looking, we saw through the window the chef, la mamma, sitting with her children (and aides) eating. It was just before the opening. We immediately stop our search and decided to go to Trattoria Il Bargello! We were right! the... More

Despite its unprepossessing exterior, this turned out to provide one of the best meals we have ever eaten in Italy. The menu has a Sicilian influence. The house Tuscan red (Palazzuolo) was good value and charged as a proportion of a bottle. We started with bruschetta (very fresh pomodoro) and fried vegetables (al dente, fresh flavoured) then went on to... More

Great location for central Florence, well-cooked straightforward food at reasonable prices (unlike many restaurants in Florence!). A nice touch was being talked through the available wines rather than being presented with a list.

Came here for lunch after visiting Santa Croce. Food came quickly and waitress, Marilena was attentive, efficient and helpful. Food good and had the house red which was much better than average and good value for money so definitely give it a try.

Was enticed in for lunch having seen a special for gnocchi in pesto sauce and pleased we did. It was great to find a family run restaurant in the tourist area serving more than pizza and generic pasta dishes. Home cooked food with some local specialities. The gnocchi was very tasty, as was the pasta with wild boar sauce. Service... More

This unpretentious family-run trattoria is on the main tourist thoroughfare between Santa Croce and the Piazza della Signoria. The food is classic Italian, nothing very special but we enjoyed lunch here and, especially given the location, the prices were very reasonable.

Thank cleoch
