We had a delicious lunch at Bianco at an outside table. We had the curried grilled chicken & vegetables and the pasta of the day. It was reasonably priced and tasty.

We visited the place for an aperitif (great Aperol Spritz) and enjoyed the selection of things to eat that come with the drinks. Staff was friendly and attentive, don't let yourself be scared away by the big beard on an otherwise handsome face!

It's not alway easy to find sufficient breakfast places in Italy, but this works! We has a toasted sandwich, yogurt with fruit and great espresso drinks.

This cafeteria (bar in Italian) is a great place to have a tipical Italian breakfast in the nearby of River Arno, few minutes walking from famous Palazzo Strozzi. Great capuccino, illy coffee, great choice of croissant and pastries. Good service.

After a long day of walking we've decided to stop for a coffee. We've found Bianco e, a little caffe bar, very good and nice. Low prices(caffe latte 1,60 euro), good quality. They have tables inside and outside. I don't know if they have a waiter because we went inside to buy the coffee and then we stood outside. If... More

Nice little bar in the center of Florence, we loved the wholegrain flour danish pastries and coffee. Nothing fancy but neither "run of the mill" italian bar.

Good quality and variety of pastries for breakfast. Quick service and just around the corner from the Westin, where we were staying. Across the street is a small market as well. Went there several times in the morning

Great for a quick light lunch with reasonable price; 7 euro for sandwich and 5 euro for a glass of wine.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
