What a wonderful place. Small trattoria in the market place. Great helpful staff and novelty of entering your table from external doors. Great experience

We spend about a month a year in Florence and Mercato Saint Ambrogio is my favorite place to shop for all kinds of food. It is always a pleasure to stop at Trattoria da Rocco for a bite. Great, simple food and an extraordinary value. Fun as well. All of the starters of the day are prices the same as... More

The restaurant is in the middle of mercato sant’ambrogio. The food is excellent. We took a couple of small plates: pumpkin soup, an eggplant dish, some ravioli and dessert. The food was better than any that we had in the touristy areas of Rome , Florence and Venice. After having pizzas and pastas for many days in a row, I... More

This little restaurant is tucked into a food hall. You open the doors and slide into a booth, usually shared with another party. The menu is in several languages. All of the dishes were delicious and fresh, and very inexpensive. We ended with a caramelized/poached pear that was heavenly.

Lasagne, beef, pumpkin tagliatelle, ham & parmesan salad and wine! All very delicious and served fast and efficiently. Lasagne was creamy and meaty, tagliatelle fresh, parmesan tangy and wine nice and light so perfect for lunchtime. Waiters speak English. This is a market eatery, so rough and ready: it's grab a table when it becomes free, scoff hard, pay cash... More

A great setting in the middle of San Ambroggio market. Rocco and his team serve good wholesome Italian food cheaply with no frills. The house wine is not offensive and you pay for what you drink...Our latest lunch of 2 courses and wine was 26 Euro.

We figured out how to ride the bus in Firenze and ended up riding the C3 to Sant' Ambrogio. We checked out the flea market, then went inside to find Trattoria da Rocco, which had been recommended by an American student on the bus. We immediately were greeted and seated by Rocco himself. He bustled some diners who were lingering... More
