The Michelin star status and beautiful setting at Winter Garden Restaurant really drew me in, so I make a lunch reservation there on my May trip to Florence. The restaurant looked stunning, our waiter was extremely courteous, and the food was amazing as well! I would definitely recommend it for special occasions.
One of the reviews I saw mentioned about a 40 euro prefix lunch. It sounded like an exceptional deal, so I of course asked for that. Our waiter told us that it wasn't available but he checked with the chef and offered us a three-course meal. We had roasted octopus as a starter, lobster pasta as the second course, and finished with turbot fillet. Everything was delicious and the service was exceptional.
My only surprise was the bill came out to be 100 euro per person and my husband ordered drinks, so the total came to be 270 euro for the lunch. Overall we had a great experience.

Wonderful experience starting from the reservation. The bar manager Christian Pampo went extra mile to make sure through the emails that we had all the informations we needed and I deeply appreciated his personal touch. It was our last stop during my birthday trip and it couldn’t be better. The ambiance of the Winter Garden Bar was extremely beautiful, relaxing and even intimate. Just to sit in this gorgeous sophisticated courtyard was already a treat. Our waiter Andrea was very nice and friendly. We had a lovely chat with him and he was kind to recommend us a few other activities according to our taste. Honestly, we didn’t think the tea and finger food were anything special, but we liked the ritual anyways and I must say the macaroons stood out for me even though I’m usually not a big fan. When we are back in Florence again, we may stop by for the Bloody Mary ritual.

Went there on a recommendation and had a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere was quite comfortable and provided a much needed escape from the Florence heat. Our table was at an exceptionally comfy booth which added to the enjoyable atmosphere. Our first course was good, which was eggplant, mozzarella, and a basil sorbet. We then moved onto Parmagiano pasta which they were kind enough to split onto two plates because we were sharing. Our main course was a Turbot fillet which was cooked to perfection (though a bit too salty) as well as a pork dish that was superbly cooked. The drinks were delicious and to top it off, we were given a small dessert on the house. Overall a good experience with kind and attentive staff, enjoyable food, and wonderful atmosphere.

For a Michelin star restaurant, I thought it was definitely sub-standard. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation (despite plenty of open tables). Attention was lacking. Service would be best described as "tag team" with no one really taking responsibility for our needs. The food was good, but not great. They even forgot one item we ordered. If you are staying at the St. Regis and simply don't want to go out (or are too tired) and you have plenty of time, I would eat there. Otherwise, there are plenty of nicer restaurants at a better price point.

Amazing Experience, everything was impeccable from service, food and atmosphere.
This is a must go when in Florence.
The restaurant is located in the Winter Garden of the St. Regis Florence, very elegant and sophisticated, with live pianist.
Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or just to enjoy like a fairy take!

Obviously I am not the only person who found the piano untuneful and too loud. The restaurant shares its space with the cocktail lounge. So people shouting to be heard over the piano. The dining experience was so unpleasant that I left without having dessert.
Admittedly the restaurant is spectacular, the food excellent and the service good. But in no way is this Michelin standard. To be avoided at all costs seeing that there are other restaurants worthy of your clientele.

As soon as you enter you are catapulted into another era!!!...sofas, mirrors, marbles, everything is truly cared for in every detail.
Music in the background with the pianist.
Unfortunately, I didn't find the service to be up to the standard of the place...that evening it was very disorganized and having a table near the counter we felt it.
Still worth a visit!!

The restaurant is located inside the St Regis hotel. The welcome and kindness of all the staff is noteworthy, the internal environment is very well looked after and very pleasant. I found the proposal very interesting, starting from the very good risotto, perhaps with a slightly small portion, while the meat I ate, a truly excellent peposo! The experience was truly pleasant, perhaps the only note to reconsider was the overall bill even considering both the context and the cuisine and the service.
Still worth a try.

We had dinner at the Wintergarden on 14thMay. The service is the only redeeming feature of the experience ( of the course the hotel and the restaurant are beautiful). The waiter who suggested an excellent wine ( Florenza from Toscana) made up for the terrible food.
I agree with some of the reviews..I can’t imagine how this restaurant has managed a Michelin rating…and it will be interesting to understand how anyone could have good word about the food…

Refinated and super elegant. Evocative and nostalgic with the pianist taking you in a trip through time. Super service and friendly personnel. Super worth to arrive to the champagne ceremony around 7pm. Wine list is spectacular.

This is truly quality.
Besides the beautiful Ritz, this restaurant definitely means quality.
Food was beautifully presented and service was on point.
Marco, our server surprised us with his kindness, patience and great professionalism. No doubt that we had the best.
My only complaint, annoying babies on a “Michelin” recommendation restaurant. Not sure about that !
Besides the annoying noise, expect immaculate service and great food.

Was in Florence with business trip to Pitti Uomo, and being invited to an event happening in St.regis Florence hotel.
Sadly the event is really bad organised by the brand itself, so we left after 5 minute .
Went all the way down back to the "Winter Garden" area, was amazed by the building construction , those classical Firenze very crafted old time design. so we decided to stay for a drink.
Ordered an extra dirty Martini , has to say it is so far the best one I ever had.
unfortunately the vibe is kind of being disturb by the pianist , as was pretty loud pressed key sound.
but so far I will still recommend to go check out the "wow" and amazing interior and a cocktail .

I know it’s St Regis but 40Euro for a cup of tea and a couple of tea size cookies seems a bit ridiculous. Guess I should have asked price first.

Atmosphere: great. Service: great. Food: another issue. We were served an amuse bouche, that was a piece of bread covered with a tomato puree to look like a tomato. Visually well done. But it tasted like tomato paste. No subtlety of flavoring. A risotto was served, supposedly with fermented blueberries. None to be found. Boring dish monochromatic in appearance and flavor. Lobster served over done, chewy. Dessert, a grapefruit granita. Boring. If it were grapefruit plus tarragon, that would have been interesting. But, alas, this evening every dish had one note, not two or three. Like I say, the setting and service are great. But the food did not live up to its aspirations. I had many tastier meals in Florence at one third to half the price. Perhaps it was an off night. But we were universally disappointed in the kitchen since it claimed high gastronomical ambitions..

Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
