This place just made me mad. I've been to Florence a few times and for the most part have been extremely satisfied with the food and the experience. Not only was this place overpriced and average, but they charged a cover charge of 3 euro pp. What a joke. You have to be desperate or crazy to consider this place.... More

What a wonderful spot! We were on our way to a wedding in Perugia and decided to do a brief stay in Florence to revisit some of our favourite spots. As we were staying at the wonderful Hotel Lungarno, the aunt of the bride, who lives in Florence, recommended that we visit Cammillo. We are so glad she did! We... More

We wanted a nice romantic dinner with authentic Tuscan (not tourist) food. The concierge recommend Cammillo and we were not disappointed except a bit in how packed it was. The food was traditional Tuscan fare so a but less bold in flavor than some of the southern dishes. It was farm to table quality and the wine recommendations were dead... More

Crossing the Santa Trinita bridge towards Oltrarno and taking the second street on the left, you will inmediately find Cammillo, one of the best and most authentic trattorias you can find in Florence. Food, basically tuscan, is made with the freshest of ingredients. The veal parmeggiana is somehing to remember, and the caramelized goat cheese is worth the visit. Prices... More

The waitstaff was one of the friendliest we experienced in all of Italy. They were gracious, accommodating, friendly, willing to answer questions. overall patient and of good humor which was not our usual experience of Italian waiters. We had the place recommended to us by a local friend and we couldn't thank him enough. It didn't not feel kitchy and... More

This place, to quote Stefan from SNL, “has it all.” We felt almost as if we were in a Fellini movie, with a kaleidoscopic array of dinner parties – from intimate couples and tourist quartets to big-table friends get-togethers among locals and recognized regulars. An extensive, but not exhausting, menu of Tuscan favorites, prepared with distinction. Waiters were helpful, humorous... More

Staying at the Hotel Lungarno we walked by here and finally stopped for lunch, the menu looked very good. We were trying to eat light, because we had a culinary tour in the afternoon, but they had some fried artichokes, which I hadn't seen at any of the other restaurants we had been to and I love them. We ate... More

We dined here on the recommendation of a Florence friend and of Tripadvisor. I was reading the wine list when the waiter asked me what we fancied. I suggested a Chianti Classico Riserva at which point he whisked the list from me and said - we speak Italian - 'this is what you want: Forra'. It was indeed delicious (I... More

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and were expecting to be pleased with our food. We were not. Trying to avoid the fried food was a challenge. Portions were small and very, very expensive for what you get (115 Euros for two including a half bottle of wine...which was actually good). The food was very overrated and basic. La... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
