Lovely local restaurant with good food and fun family style feel. We ate there a few times.Tthe Penne Pasta is really good and they have good inexpensive house red wine which they will provide in a Chianti style bottle and charge you by consumption-not by the glass. Friendly place and convenient to the hotel.

This place is out of the way for most tourists -- across f rom Piazza Tasso in Oltrarno. We have an apartment at Porta Romana so it was a pleasant km walk for us straight there. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was full with people waiting outside by 8:30. Definitely make a reservation. Tables are shared... More

TIP: BE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! A great place to get food that that's always fresh. Yes, the waiters can be a little grumpy, but they stay very busy and warm up if you give them a smile and try to be polite. Overall I like the coziness and familiarity of this place. And sharing tables? Not as awful... More

We were reccomended to this restaurant by Alice the owner of the Riva Lofts hotel and were really not dissapointed. I guess it was e best culinay experience on our 2 week trip to Italy & Paris, which speaks to e fact that either we have very low expectations or this is really a good place to have dinner. We... The best of three places we visited in Florence. Waiter was very helpful in describing the dishes and acted as though he was enjoying his job, which made it enjoyable for us. The restaurant was being used by may locals wo acted like they were regular visitors.

So it's a bit remote but the food and staff make up for the distance. This is where my Italian friends dine. I hate to divulge their secrets, but it's well worth while to try this local gem.

We went there with a 13 year old, and we all enjoyed it. There was good "comfort food" and more sophisticated items as well. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely go back.

This is NOT your tourist trap. We were told to go to this restaurant by an American who had been living in Florence for 20 years. We walked to this restaurant (a long walk) but it was so worth it. The best meal I ate in Italy for sure! We met the nicest people and drank wine and talked for... More
