Our tour guide suggested that we visit Perche no! for gelato. Wow, best gelato ever! And the staff are very kind and helpful. Definitely stop by for gelato, you'll be remembering this shop long after you've returned home.

Small place but they have a very nice and original display of ice creams. Try the pistachio... real one... and the sesame... very good product. The place is very narrow and you need to be patient as they are very popular and recommended by all...guidesMore
The best "gelato" in Florence. Do not miss it when you visit the city with your family. Too good not to enjoy. Perche no!.......
My first night in Florence I headed to this establishment and it was one of the best gelato experiences that I had in my trip. Wonderful flavors and a patient staff.
Stop two, for us, on our gelato tour of Florence involved a stop at Gelateria Perchè No! Why not! Perchè No! regularly appears on "best" gelato in Florence lists. It's one of the oldest shops in town (founded in 1935) and specifically what brought us...here was to try their recreation of Buontalenti, the original gelato flavor. Perchè No! won a contest to recreate chef Buontalenti's 1565 recipe and it's been permanently on their menu ever since. So if you're on a gelato tour, and you want something connected to the actual origin of gelato, this is the exact spot for you. The gelato was fantastic. It was a whole other level to taste what the original flavor may have tasted like. They've got dairy-free (vegan) flavors if you need them, and a whole bunch of really well-done classic gelato flavors to try in a cup or cone. We were super happy to be there and eat this gelato and bummed that the only way to have it again is to travel back to Florence from Los Angeles. (BUT WE'RE WILLING!) Thank you, Perchè No! for the delicious gelato history in our mouths!More
Best gelato in all of Florence!! We had heard they were good, but we’re they good! The strawberry mousse flavour was heavenly, the lemon and vanilla impressive takes on classics, and the hazelnut was to die for. All that wrapped up in a great locale...and with the most kind and friendly staff we have experienced. We have a 20month old and a lot of places it can be difficult but they made us feel welcome and our little especially. Will definitely be coming back!!More
If you want a good gelato, this is the place to enjoy fantastic flavors in smooth and velvety ice cream. It’s is truly delicious. The store opens at 11:00 so it’s a good idea to be there when it opens or be there during lunch...hours when crowds are eating in restaurants. It worked for us.More
The peach gelato, and gelato milkshake were just perfect. Decent lemon and fragola. The zuppa was … interesting, and boozy.
Great gelato in Florence. Remember, if the gelato is pile high, it is not real gelato. Light and refreshing
Very good gelato! Decent priced and the staff is always very happy and kind. We kept coming back to this place during our trip and I'm going to save the name for future visits to Florence!
We have been sampling gelato throughout Florence. This place is authentic all natural delicious but most of all great service and smiles! Being nice goes along way and they have delicious gelato! Must try!
This shop has long long queue, but there are various flavours, I picked lemon and yogurt, it was delicious.
Beautiful sorbet and gelato, friendly arrived by the family team. Patience too for our 4 year old while she chose and ate. Truly delicious gelato, stunning flavours, in a lovely atmosphere.
The most amazing gelato. After a day sightseeing we stopped off for gelato on the way back to the hotel. Huge selection of flavours and absolutely delicious.
We tried the gelato in a number of places in Florence and have to say this was by far the best we had. Excellent ice cream.
