This farm was where we had lunch and wine during the daylong Tuscany trip from Florence. We were first taken around the dairy firm where we could see healthy cows who end up in the dining plates. The vineyard setting is lovely and you can see the tall towers of San Gimignano from here. The employees who take you around and... More

We also took a tour which included a lunch in the country winery. So glad we got this opportunity, because we'd never have found this place on our own!. Pork was offered the day we were there, which isn't my favorite, but there was plenty of other dishes to fill me up. Plus, once we were all served, we were... More

We visited this restaurant as part of a tour group exploring Tuscany. The visit included an amazing and generous wine tasting as well as lunch. All the vegetables in the dishes were grown along side the grape at the winery. Looking out at the winery was tranquil and reminiscent of what I imagine heaven looks like. Manicured crops, lush green... More

Visited Poggio Allero as a stop on a wonderful Tuscany in a day tour. The view here is wonderful. The wine excellent. Lunch excellent too. The farm tour was informative and just the right length.

Best lunch in Tuscany! We were part of a tour group that stopped here for lunch. The meal was excellent! We had wine with the bruschetta, wine with the first course, wine with the second course, and a dessert wine. I particularly liked the chianti served with the second course. That was a great wine. I should have bought a... More

I am still reliving this incredible meal - the best I've had in my four months overseas. The staff are incredibly kind, the waiters knowledgeable and the wine stunningly good. And don't even get me started on the FOOD. My god. They say it's a light lunch but I would hate to see what a heavy lunch is!!! The portions... More

Food and wine made/grown on the farm. Best Chianti I've had in Italy. Great food-- good service. I was with a Globus group and everyone enjoyed the meal.

Beautiful part of a tour I did in Tuscany. Friendly family run winery/farm with the most spectacular views I've ever seen. We didn't stay long as we were on a tour but what I saw made me want to go back. They have a bed and breakfast here, so next time I visit Italy I will be staying here ...... More

Simply fabulous highlight to a Tuscan tour. The family waited outside in the glorious sunshine taking wine and overlooking what is undoubtedly one of the great Tuscan landscapes to get an outside table. The set lunch extended over the entire afternoon with excellent course after excellent course complemented by excellent wines. This was a true culinary and aesthetic experience. Many... More

We enjoyed this family owned/run farm a few years ago as part of tuscany in a day tour and Poggio Alloro was one of the reasons we wanted to see Tuscany again. We drove ourselves from Florence, was about 45 min, not a bad drive at all and not hard to find. We pre-made reservations for lunch and were seated... More
