Four of us dined at GSC in September based on the recommendation of our knowledgeable tour guide. He was so right! We arrived at 6:45 and some of the staff was still eating their supper on the edge of the dining room. The personable chef/owner still welcomed us in at sat us himself. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. The... More

A fun atmosphere, a waiter with a great sense of humour, and wonderful food. It was recommended to us and we met someone in there who was back for the his second night running!

Delicious typical Tuscan fare, several cuts above the standard tourist cliche menu found in many Siena restaurants - and excellently priced with friendly service. Seasonal delights included porcini and cinghiale, and the great house wine comes from a vineyard belonging to the proprietor's family. You'd be wise to book, as we found it full - mostly with locals, not tourists... More

We had passed this restaurant on our way to town and thought it would be nice for dinner. We got there about 5:45 and another couple said the restaurant didn't open till 7, but they had spoken with the owner and he said he would open early. Were we incredibly fortunate--it was our BEST meal in Italy. The ambiance, the... More

Amazing food, amazing service! We were there two evenings in a row and tried lots of dishes, from strters to desserts, and we recommend everything! Especially the "pici al ragù di cinta senese" and the "peposo"! And, of course, you MUST try their homemade Elisir ... just the perfect way to end your evening!

A jeweler we did business with in Siena recommended this restaurant as authentic and frequented by all locals. it is just a short walk from the center but hard to find without directions. Not many tourists, but loaded with Italians. This was one of the best lunches we had during our 2 week stay. Will definitely go back.

The decoration is nice. Beside the crowd in a calm street we thought it will be an comfortable place to eat quietly. But no. It was noisy, speed service with barely a smile, and it was expensive. The food was good but no surprise here. The TripAdvisor score seems to have made it a turist trap in summer.

One thing was noticeable when we arrived to Siena, things were so real. This places was recommended by somone local as "great local food, no fuss" Enchanting, simple, great wine selection. Typical discrete service, not much explaining, no show.

Good local restaurant, not posh or fussy just good home cooking with nice house wine. The Tuscan bean soup was lovely and the rabbit was plentiful and hearty. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices were so good that after three courses, two glasses of the house wine and a liqueur with dessert I got change from 30 euros.... More
