Real local family-run place; luckily my son who is studying here can speak Italian. Picked some of the specials, very meat-based. We ate about 8pm on a Saturday night; just got out as a group of 14 locals arrived! Cost for 3 with wine came out at a bit over E100 which was good for the food eaten.

This was hands down my favorite meal in Italy. We have been in Italy a week and have visited 4 cities and eaten out in all of them. The osteria is hard to find, follow Google maps walking, then give up and walk slightly back up the hill just past the parking garage. Look for the vertical green and white... More

This is a simply furnished, unpretentious Osteria with an emphasis on superb meat. I had the roast pork and my husband had a very good Tagliata of beef. We had dishes of grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes to share. This is a very good example of Tuscan food of excellent quality cooked beautifully. It is hard to find but well... More

We run in this place coming from the parking lot, the service was friendly, but they speak almost no English! Fortunatly I am pretty fluent in Italian, so it was ok. As it was very hot we just had a little starter and a pasta dish, just fine, maybe the pasta was a little too oily, not sure if I... More

While it is down the hill, through an arch and back up the hill again, this place is definitely worth seeking out. Authentic and beautifully prepared dishes from the region served with local vino rosso straight from the barrel. A meat lovers paradise. The service is warm and welcoming as you'd expect from a family run establishment. We left before... More

I've been living in Siena for over two months now and have tried some of the fancier places but this was by far the best meal I've eaten. We were recommended it by an Italian friend and wandered in on a Sunday finding ourselves the only customers. The owner then made us the most amazing meal including the best steak... More

This was the first place we saw when walking away from the car park nearby. We saw some locals eating an amazing-looking fiorentina steak, so we ordered the same. It is expensive but a great treat and we split ours between three people. Service a little bit slow - mostly one overworked waiter - and no frills, but we would... More

Osteria Perbacco is a bit out of the way but worth tracking down! On the night we dined there we were the only customers...with the family eating in the next room. The food was delicious, especially the steak tagliata, seared to perfection on the outside, beautifully pink and tender inside. The ravioli was also tasty served with a mint and... More

A really warm welcome awaits you here - but beware they speak very little English. However, if you can handle basic Italian, then you should get by. And the food - absolutely wonderful. Enough said.

We chose this restaurant purely on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. It is not easy to find but we followed the directions given in one review (thank you ChemOnTheGo!!) and we had no problem. The outlook can be a bit offputting as the restaurant is opposite a car park but once you are inside... More
