I love Switzerland. We have been here three years. I love the people, the culture, the cities and the mountains. I'm sad to say I'm not a huge fan of the cuisine. There are exceptions, and Atelier im Teufelhof is one of the very few....More

Another good dinner, but I wish they were not as heavy handed with sauces... Mango sauce (with shrimp as pictured below) was dessert like sweet and didn't work in an appetizer. Veal chop was good but under seasoned and so on.

Had the potato riesling soup, their signature veal chop, and the panna city's with ovalmatine dessert. Every course was lovely and hard to fault in any way. Absolutely enjoyed the food, ambience was nice too. It has become a sure stopover if and when in...More

The food here is consistently of high quality, as is the service. I strongly prefer fish and they always have a nice fish option on the menu. Furthermore, for Basel standard, this place is very affordable.

I stayed in the Teufelhof hotel and even if I do not normally want to eat in a hotel restaurant, after seeing Tripadvisor ranking and comments, decided to have my dinner here. Their menu is just about right, not too wide, not too limited. The...More

The restaurant Atelier underlines the art and gallery orientation of the cultural guesthouse «Der Teufelhof Basel». Being the French word for an artist’s workshop, an atelier is the workplace of a creative person. Our guests staying in the restaurant Atelier experience a glimpse behind the scenes of daily life in kitchen and service. Our offer comprises state-of-art global cuisine, mainly with Swiss and regional products which we purchase from suppliers and producers who we know personally. The emphasis is placed on manual skills - everything we offer is «handmade».
