We had a great steak and a salad with chicken livers. We also tried the local speciality called malakoff - not my thing, but great to try. All with a nice bottle of local wine. Fondue looked very nice there too, just not the weather for it.

My best friend took me to this restaurant to introduce me to a fondue. It was an amazing experience. Great service. Highly recommend.

You've got to have the fondue - so tasty - and a salad - and a Swiss wine - and of course a dessert. All wonderful quality and extra special staff who spoke good English - a bonus. What a great night!

I was amazed how busy this restaurant in mid-August; my friend was leaving Geneva and wanted to try the cheese Fondue. The fondue was good but not exceptional; one of my friends opted for a Malakoff (grilled cheese on toast) which was delicious. I must confess that I prefer a fondue in winter. The service was very friendly in spite... More

After living an ocean apart for 24 years, we re-connected in Geneva, and our first dinner together was at Cafe du Soleil, Geneva's oldest restaurant. For our second anniversary, we had lunch on the terrace. She had crevettes; I had marinated poulet. Both excellent. Of course, we shared the profiteroles. Definitely our favorite place to eat in Switzerland, but be... More

My family and I ordered the fondue with the meat plate and green salads. The fondue was very good, as were the meat and the salads. The terasse is also a nice place to sit away from the crowds that form in Geneva.

A little haven outside of Geneva town centre, just up from the lake. We have been several times and have loved the food everytime. I usually stick with the delicious filet de perche as I know it's fresh and not the frozen Slovakian stuff that other restaurants use. The staff are great. Sometimes it takes a while for the food... This is such a popular address in Geneva...and for good reasons. Unparalleled service, delicious food (fondue, of course, but also the daily specials always refined and fresh). Cafe du Soleil is the perfect place to meet with friends, colleagues, family, the loved one. Lovely place and decoration make it easy to feel cozy and relaxed, for lunch or dinner. Been... More

Delightful family run spot for an evening dinner on the patio. Historic setting, away from most of the hustle and bustle of commerce. Nothing fancy - reliable fondue at about 24 euros per person, along with cured sliced meats, salads, gazpacho, etc. in a friendly unpretentious atmosphere. Frequented by locals.

Don't really get the hype about this place. I am an expatriate myself so I guess I have the right to say the place caters for expatriates. Not that there is anything wrong with it but you'll get better fondue in a few other places, including bains de paquis and gruyerain. Otherwise, a decent place.
