Pricey, good Swiss food and attentive staff. A St Moritz institution. Classy restaurant with upmarket clientele. Not one to book if you are on a budget but we had a enjoyable evening. We went to the Stuben as recommended by our butler at Badrutt's Palace Hotel. The service was the best part of the dinner, very attentive. The food was average, my husband ordered the lamb and accepted the mint sauce which was a sugar syrup with some mint. It ruined the taste of everything else on his plate. I had a... More

If you want to have a memorable meal in an institution of Saint moritz, then this is the place. We went to the Swiss of the restuarant. Service is wonderful, the whole building is old but well kept. Food is so so, however the overall experience in dining was good.

Chesa Veglia is a fantastic outstanding very cosy place. Fantastic food, a very big choice of great wines. Service is very kind and friendly. One of my favorites in St.Moritz

The tipical mountain restaurant with a great atmosphere. I had a good dinner with good meat and wine. Wine list is decent. Service is correct and price is of course not for everybody. But you are in St. Moritz!

The title says it all. An old wooden door opens to a very cozy, traditional ambience with ***** service, yet relaxed and not at all uptight. Staff was extremely friendly also with our 4-year-old. Fantastic food: I really enjoyed the polenta with melted brie and truffles. We will definitely go back.

This is a very charming Italian restaurant in a super old typical Engadin house. The atmosphere is very nice so are the pizza's. The service was very friendly. This is a great place both for adults but also for groups with children.

it was a fantastic experience to have the dinner in every evening during our staying in S. Moritz. Obviously the pizza was great, romantic atmosphere and one of the best meal which we have in our life. Congratulations for it!

Very lovely old restaurant with great ambience and friendly service. We had pizza (recommended by TA). Four of us shared 2x Alpenrose, 1x Diavola and 1 x Dama Bianca. All of them were excellent, but the Alpenrose was outstanding -- chanterelles and ceps, goat cheese and dried ham (and I forget what). Sure, it was more expensive than most pizzas,... More

›Chesa Veglia‹ is Romansh for »old house«, but this time-honoured restaurant is actually much more than that. A historic farmhouse in the pulsing heart of St. Moritz, this beautiful building is as rich in atmosphere as it’s in history. It’s quite impossible to walk through its door without being instantly beguiled by its allure, be it the infectious laughter coming from the bar and the sound of bartenders mixing cocktails, the welcoming Alpine scents of ancient pine and the look and friendly feel of the wooden furnishings and vintage cutlery, or the sense of luxury permeating the air. The ingredients for a perfect night are all there, and all you have to do is sit back and enjoy.

In 1936, ›Chesa Veglia‹ was transformed by Badrutt’s Palace Hotel into an avant-garde meeting place for budding epicureans, the forefathers of today’s foodies. Since then, its irresistible atmosphere has attracted locals as well as tourists, not to mention VIPs such as Elizabeth Taylor and her entourage. To this day, ›Chesa Veglia‹ is popular with the young, hip jet-set crowd fond of holidaying in St. Moritz, not just because of its unique ambience, but also thanks to its excellent food.

When it comes to food, it’s hard, if not impossible, to beat the incredible variety offered at ›Chesa Veglia‹. The establishment boasts three different restaurants and two bars, all unique and resplendent in their own way, guaranteeing that everyone’ll find just what they’re looking for.

Take the ‹Patrizier Stuben› for instance, stunning and elegant with its rustic Engadin decor: prepare to enjoy revisiting regional favourites, concocted by a chef who ensures that the fresh local ingredients used fulfil their potential and more. Traditional dishes with an incredible new spin grace the menu, side by side with other favourites such as caviar, foie gras and vegetarian specialities.

The ›Pizzeria Heuboden‹, meanwhile, is all about Italian cuisine and, more specifically, pizza plays the starring role, as you might expect, prepared authentically in a wood-fired oven. If the idea of ordering pizza in the heart of the Alps doesn’t appeal to you, think again: here, you’ll bite into a crust that will definitely make a lasting impression. Most decadent of them all is the famous »Dama Bianca«, a white grande dame of a pizza, prepared with tasty taleggio, delicate buffalo mozzarella, pungent Parmesan and topped with generous shavings of truffle.

At ›Grill Chadafo‹, open only during the winter season, delicious grill specialities await: the roasted Bresse chicken with rosemary is the restaurant’s signature dish and leaves even the most exhausted epicure lost for words.

And while ›Chesa Veglia‹ is famous chiefly for its food, there’s yet one more reason to pay it a visit.
