Food is good, service is fine, but nothing exceptional. There certainly is room for improvement. There are so many great places in Zermatt - this is not my on my top 10 list of restaurants. We went in summer. I've heard it is better during winter.

This is more of a foodie place where presentation matters given the Michelin notation. We ordered again off the seasonal menu and choose the venison and deer loin and filets with the same typical accompaniments. (i.e. red cabbage, Brussel sprouts, spätzle) and the tomato soup. Both were excellent with presentation and cost the biggest difference from the similar bistro meal... More

We didn't check tripadvisor prior going to this restaurant but maybe we should have. As many people pointed out, the food is ok but the service is poor and annoying and it's rather expensive.

I first visited here in 2012 with my son as we finished the Haute Route. Now 4 years later I am Here again with my youngest son having done just the same. We had the rack of lamb. Incredible. Really. Probably the best rack of lamb have had in my life. And that's a few. Cooked perfectly. The sauce was... More

This is a nicely laid out restaurant. Three of us dined here and mostly the food was good but one person in the party felt unsatisfied because the portion (of a fish dish) was tiny. The prices were very high even by Zermatt's standards. The real negative was the off hand service; there was an attempt to show that the... More

Numerous visits to Zermatt but this was our first visit to Le Mazot. Cosy restaurant with an open kitchen. Starter and main course both presented well and delicious. Everything cooked to our order. Service was friendly and efficient. There are many restaurants to choose in Zermatt, recommend this one highly. Nothing is inexpensive, but we found this good value for... More

Rustic Swiss restaurant, saw it was recommended in the Michelin guide but didn't expect a whole lot. However the food was fantastic, i had seafood risotto and a lamb main course which was the best lamb I've ever tasted. The first bottle of wine was corked so they immediately replaced it. Yes the service wasn't what you expect in a... More

I am a bit surprised by what others have said on TripAdvisor about the service here. We were extremely well looked after by a very cheerful and friendly waitress. The food was excellent too. Yes, it was quite expensive, but not any more so than many other restaurants in Zermatt. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

The food is quite good but expensive for what it is. The price of the wine is also excessive. The overall experience is not worthwhile. The serving ladies (waitresses) are rude and would be advised to learn something about customer service. I would definitely not return to this place.
