The Smith's Arms is found approximately 5 miles from the Pont Abraham Services at the western end of the M4. It is easy to find by travelling the 5 miles along the A48 and following the brown tourist signs on the left. When we travel we try to miss out on motorway service food and this restaurant looked like a... More

Not wishing to eat in a service area we took a chance and followed the brown tourist sign to this pub. We were so glad we did. Food was good and well priced with several offers including free dessert for the over 60s. Recommended and well worth the half mile detour.

Have been meaning to give this a try for quite some time and happened to be passing close by recently so decided to call in for lunch. The waiter who served us was really friendly and welcoming. We sat in the restaurant which was really homely. The whole place is nice and cosy. After a little while several locals came... More

You probably wouldn't seek The Smith's Arms out for a special visit, but it's handily placed just a minute off the A48 between Cross Hands and Carmarthen and offers a warm welcome and good food. So an excellent stop-off if en route to the ferry to Ireland. We enjoyed a really good steak and salad prepared to order and wine... More

Going for meal as a large party can be a bit hit and miss, restaurants can be great at serving small groups but then get it so wrong with a larger party. At The Smiths however, it was good! The staff are all quite young but efficient and very polite, nothing was too much trouble, two of the party were... More

Visited here with some family for my birthday. I had the fish and chips which was very nice and a big portion. I had aero cheesecake for desert which was delicious! My family also enjoyed their meals and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful. I do feel that the restaurant and bar needs updating. I love cosy old pubs... More

Great welcome, good hospitality. The food was excellent and great to have home made chips rather than cooked from frozen. Burgers were amazing especially the tex-mex. As a visitor to the area we found the local drinkers very chatty and really added value to our visit. A great pub.
