This restaurant is in a lovely location in the Jordaan area. Even though it was chilly, we sat outside under heaters which was perfect! I had the assaggi pizza. I was a little let down. It was alright, but I definitely wouldn't order it again because the cheese seemed to have a weird taste. The other person I was with... More

We were sent to Assagi by our hotel concierge after the restaurant we wanted to visit was full. And what a stroke of luck that turned out to be. Owner Antonio greeted us with buena sera and then delighted in telling us about his menu and the provenance of all the ingredients, many of which are authentic Italian. The burrata... More

For my job I travel around the world and this restaurant, Italian restaurant, is one of the best. Here you can taste a real Italian kitchen, pasta, beef and Pizza like in Napoli. The pasta is home made and the food is real craft from the chef, brother of Antonio. Is nice, warm and speak many languages, Italian. Good food,... More

Fitted in 14 of us at short notice. The staff work their butts off to please in great Italian style. Great food. Pizza was fabulous and the pear ravioli stunning. Cannot fault this place. Definitely a must visit and worth the trouble to find..

Having enjoyed this awesome restaurant as part of a promotion, we will definitely be going back. Pasta cooked to perfection and some very tasty looking plates passed us on the way to other tables. Top scores

Portion are tiny although the fold is nice I would never ever ever ever recommend! Had some pasta.. possibly 40 grams and priced at 17.5 euros. Pizza 15 euros with just some salame slices Ridiculous!

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
