Gent aan de Schinkel is one of those place in which once you entered you inmediately feel at home. The place was crowded but not too much. The food they serve is not haute cuisine but it is nice. I really enjoyed dinnning there

Had beers and snacks a few times at this Belgium themed bar restaurant that was located nearby our hotel. They do close the patio early but still allow you to drink inside if you're looking for somewhere to have beers later in the evening. On one of our stops here we actually enjoyed their bitter balls, a bar snack we... More

Lovely Dutch cafe, cozy inside, sidewalk seating, and picnic tables canalside. Quiet location just outside the centre near far end of Vondelpark. Friendly staff, classic Dutch cafe fare at reasonable prices. On a sunny afternoon, it's one of my preferred neighborhood meeting spots for coffee, fresh mint tea, or a beer with friends.

We stumbled on this by accident while we were walking into town. The candlelit entrance & interior looked so welcoming on a cold Dec eve that we couldn't resist stopping in for a beer. The beer was so good & the menu so appealing we went back again the next night for dinner. Food delicious, beer outstanding & ambience cool,... More

Delicious food. We ordered "makreelsalade met gerookte zalm, Appel en mierikswortel" (can't say that in English) and the cod fish with lobster sauce and it was perfect, we highly recommend that. Very good wine of the house. And very very kind waitress. Happy to turn back any time.

Stayed next door at the lovely Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam. Meals here were very good, beer good and a very friendly atmosphere.

We were staying in the guest house next door and ate here on our first night in Amsterdam. The food was very good, the atmosphere was authentic but the lighting was so dark that we had to use our phones to read the menu.

Excellent belgian beers and european menu. Really nice tables outside by the canal. Local crowd as tourists miss this easily.

Just outside the south entrance of Vondelpark this cosy nice cafe/bar/restaurant provides a great selection of (Belgian) beers, snacks and dinner options. With good enough weather one can sit outside at the large seating section, or even at the tables along the canal. Service is good and fast, and the snacks are great. I haven't tried the dinner options but... More
