Not wanting to brave the cold weather outside again, chose to eat at De Palmboom, easy access directly from the Hotel. The menu and wine list were both extensive, a little pricey but definetly worth it. The restaurant filled up quickly, a lot of locals, always a good sign. Bookings are advisable if you do not want to be disappointed.

This restaurant is located on the first level of the Radisson Blu on Rusland. The food is excellent. There was a chef's special with white asparagus when we were there which was unique and excellent. It would be little expensive to eat here every night, but we did it one night while we stayed at the Radisson Blu, and went... More

The food is good consistently, the service is reliable, been visiting this particular restaurant for over 15 years and I have never complained about the service or quality of food. The only constructive criticism I could offer is to expand the menu slightly. That said with the current menu size you will easily find something to suit every pallette.

The restaurant staff is very friendly, decoration is all right, but the food is rather average. It's ok for a meal after work, but not the nice restaurant you want to take your partner for a romantic dinner.

We chose a quiet early dinner in our Raddison Blu Hotel- excellent choice! They had a special for us this fabulous Friday- yum! The red wine was delicious - as well as the filled me up at filet mignon and view we enjoyed together! Pretty certain we had the double Dutch which was many different choices of Dutch desserts!

I enjoyed a lovely dinner in this cosy restaurant, part of the RadissonBlu hotel. Being vegetarian, I was pleased and somewhat surprised to see at least three vegetarian main courses on the menu. The homemade tomato soup with basil was the best I have ever tasted and the mushroom and pea ravioli was also very tasty. Candlelight adds to the... More

Had a nice meal of ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked, along with a selection of vegetables and fries. My husband had the sea bass which he thoroughly enjoyed also. I followed with Belgian dark chocolate mousse. My husband settled for the ice cream.

This hotel restaurant is a good value for dinner. It is nice but not stuffy. The service is about average for Amsterdam (friendly but it can be somewhat slow), but this is made up for the really fine good food. They specialize in using fresh, local ingredients and have some fun local "twists" such as savory Amsterdam donut appetizer. Since... More

It's rare to have eggs at breakfast buffets that are soft boiled, but here it actually was; perfect! The buffet has a large selection of baked goods, hot and cold food and fresh juices (not watered down, you can even squeeze yourself!) and fresh fruit. The staff is very attentive and nice. Highly recommended

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
