This tiny corner spot was right around the corner from our NH City Centre hotel. The food is FABULOUS! We had a late lunch here and also a late breakfast. It was the only spot we ate at twice in 12 days of traveling :-)

We had broodje, warm from the oven, fresh orange juice and coffee. Everything was of the highest possible quality and standard. There's not a single thing I could find fault with. Nice place, fair prices, great service and the food was outstanding. Go here and be happy.

I read about this place here and felt that we had to try it. We were not disappointed! Huge sandwich and salad at very reasonable prices. It's small and hectic, but certainly worth it.

I cannot recommend this lovely café enough. Limited seating inside but plenty outside some over the road overlooking the canal. We sat outside on a sunny but cold day over Easter. Had lovely omelettes - one cheese and one Swiss - cheese, mushrooms and bacon - total heaven. Served with small French baguette and lovely side salad. We have fresh... More

Go there and then die happily. Ignore the look of the place and order a devine Broodje. We tried the one with the roast beef and aged cheese and the BLT. Everything is so tasty and fresh and in general, unimaginably good. Even the looks is great. Is adding points to thw uniqueness of the placez Prices are a joke... More

Omelette will fill you up well into lunchtime. Small place, not a lot of seats inside. Outdoor seating by the canals.

We ordered take-away lunch here as it was right next to our hotel and all the outdoor cafe tables were taken. The food was excellent and we were not alone in thinking so as it was absolutely packed every day!

This decently looking small place serves the best breakfast in Amsterdam: very good variety of sandwiches, omlettes and salads at very low prices, for Amsterdam standards. I ate there for 5 times and every time the food was delicious. If you are staying in the area, don't pay a huge price on hotel breakfast, just go to Broodje Bert!

Great service, hearty fresh food. And the kitchen staff are the essence of team work, slick and efficient. And who doesn't love Bert?

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
