Firstly this restaurant is gorgeous - it is in a beautiful old building and is so lovely and cosy inside. The evening started well when the lovely hostess allowed us to try each of the 3 wines by the glass - all of which I would have had. I then had an amazing pasta with Gorgonzola and walnuts as a... Such a lovely historical house, this alone is already a reason to visit this place. However we came for the authentic real Italian food, as we love Italian cuisine! We started with a primi, being the pasta with gorgonzola (pretty heavy due to the cheese, if you are a light eater just stick to one dish). As a secondi, I... More

I consider it extremely fortuitous that my father located this restaurant in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. This establishment offered authentic Italian cuisine in a cosy and attractive setting. The restaurant was very popular and it is certainly advisable to book ahead. The proprietors were very friendly and considerate, providing an excellent service and interesting conversation. I selected the mushroom... More

We had a nice dinner with a group of colleagues. I had the ravioli, which was simple, but very fresh and surprisingly good

We were wandering around the Jordan and happened upon this restaurant, took their card and called and made a reservation the next night. Beautiful , small romantic space. Really good meal. Italian appetizers for 2 (enough for 4) really good assortment of cold cuts and vegetables especially goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto, focaccia with pancetta. Ravioli sampler with sage butter... We came on the recommendation of our hosts and weren't sorry. Between the two of us we are a daily ravioli special and a veal special and we both felt they were above average for very good prices. When the food arrived the portions appeared small, but as we ate we realized the shape of the dishes created that illusion.... More

From the name, location and the building you would never ever conclude that this place hides a very nice authentic Italian restaurant. In fact so very authentic that at least half the staff is Italian and probably the kitchen staff too. Service is Italian wise very welcoming and friendly and everything is possible. Food is excellent from A to Z.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel Sebastian's as a great place to eat Italian food where the Dutch locals go. A reservation appears to be necessary. It is on a side street and up some stairs and fairly eclectic. It was really busy and alive with locals. The food was excellent as was the service which was helpful and... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
