Had lunch with 2 friends here and it was a good experience. The location is full of Chinese people, which can say that it is has authentic food. The portions are large and the flavors are very good. This is an good find. Go in and you won't regret it.

Our group had decided that we wanted some Chinese food and went searching in Chinatown. We came across this basic restaurant but were attracted by the ducks and suckling pigs hanging in the window. One word of warning, this place does not serve alcohol, but endless pots of china tea make up for that. The service was excellent and friendly... More

I was eating alone about 9:30pm and settled on this place as it looked busy but relaxed and authentic. I was told to sit wherever when I came in and I chose to sit round the back-definitely relaxed lol. Tables are bare and no music or real decor but that didn't bother me I just wanted food. Noticed big sign... More

Unless one is really home sick for Chinese food and craving for some Chinese Roast Meat, I suggest you give this place a miss. I had the roast duck and roast pork rice plate. It was about the begining of dinner time at about 5.30pm. I could see in plain sight that my plate was put into the microwave before... More

Went there with a friend on a Saturday evening. Nice food with generous portions, and friendly service. Not a fancy, luxurious type of place, but a down-to-earth place with plenty of Chinese customers as well as tourists. I'll make a note of it for further visits to Amsterdam.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon as my first meal in that Amsterdam trip (went there three times). The restaurant was not busy but the area was, there was a parade by monks for donations. Not only Chinese went in for food. Ordered their roast duck rice but roast pork rice was served. Tea was free. Seems like a family... More

Fairly authentic Chinese restaurant. Very large portions that can easily serve 2. Pork belly, Char Siu, Soy chicken and Duck are very good options for when you are hungry.

I've been coming here for lunch on every annual trip to Amsterdam for many years. It's not the cosiest restaurant decor-wise, but compares well with those London Hong Kong places, on food, portion size, and approachability of the staff. If you're familiar with the "Soho Brusque" model of service in London, the Wing Kee is a refreshing change.

My wife and I had a dinner there and ordered Hong Kong style "siu mei" which included assorted BBQ pork + Chicken + Roast pork, and also ordered pan fired vegetable together with soup rice noodle. We are really like it and no regret to have it. If you like transitional Hong Kong style food, here is the right place... More

Visited on New Years day 2017 for lunch. We ordered what we thought would be enough food for four persons based on UK portion sizes but when the food arrived we were astounded at the portion sizes and to be fair half what we ordered would have been plenty for lunch. The King Do ribs were particularly delicious as was... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
