The tapa's were very poor. And expensive too! But most of all: the Waiters were extremely unpleasant. Of is this typical Dutch?

I stopped in for a quiet meal after a long day of sightseeing in the cold. The food was delicious and the staff was warm and friendly.

Pompa was busy throughout our visit, a result, I think, of a combination of time of day, the weather, location and, probably, reputation. Some came only for hot drinks, others for a more substantial lunch. Service was pleasant but not especially fast. Olives were very good and pasta, when it came, tasty and filling.

Small restaurant, good food, not as good service (as usual). I was a little disappointed their wines by glass were all South American, which are great wines but I was looking forward to try European ones.

Good place for a reasonably priced glass of house-wine and tapas for those in need of respite from excellent nearby museums. Can be busy late afternoon at weekends. Helpful staff with good service. Small but reasonably priced menu.

A very good lunch break experience ! We went there by chance ; charming place, nice waitress, typical fresh food, quick serve... Paninis were tasty, bitter ballen also. Simple, but we did appreciate and do recommend.

Great food, comfortable setting, many vegetarian options. We loved the fresh pastas and vegetarian plate. Perfect spot for dinner before catching a performance at the Concertgebouw or lunch in between visits to the Stedelijk and Van Gogh museums. We did both. Also hard to resist the charm of the house cat.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
