We enjoyed authentic Dutch food here. I washed it down with a Dutch Pilsner and we shared sides of coleslaw “salad”, potato, and spinach (very good). We got spoiled though because the owner played the accordion and sat down with us when we were there....More

The food was good but not fantastic. Had fresh Herring, which I like a lot and had found nowhere else. Fresh white asparagus was good. The pork and the cod with mustard sauce were fine. Previous reviews warned us of no water unless you pay...More

The food here is classic, tasty and relatively homely. Not finding by any means but classic of the region and scrummy. What made the place particularly enjoyable was the warm and comfortable atmosphere and the waitress who was a delight. She offered recommendations, was attentive...More

Convenient to the museums. The food was excellent, atmosphere romantic and owner treated us like visiting royalty. We took owner’s suggestions and had a traditional Dutch meal, which was best meal we had while visiting Amsterdam. Also, was one of most reasonable. When we come...More

Eethuisje La Falote is a typical Dutch restaurant in the Museum quarter. The best traditional Dutch kitchen in town, more than 30 years. Simple, but nice and straight. Now, we also are open for lunch, starts at 13.00 hs - 4 minutes walking from Museum square - 7 minutes walking from the Albert Cuyp market - Tram nr 3 and nr 5 stops on the corner Our dishes are still traditionally prepared by the chef Peter. That is why the menu includes dishes that fit the season, such as stews and peas with bacon in winter, and in summer salads and fish. The Dutch classic, the meatball, is always on the menu. In addition, La Falote has a daily and weekly changing menu, often with simply Dutch meals.
