Traveling a lot sometimes eating out becomes a chore. We heard of the restaurant from friends who’d been and were not disappointed. Small neighborhood vibe and great hearty Dutch food. The chef played Happy Birthday to one of our party, making the evening even better....More

Lovely place with authentic Dutch cuisine, cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. All dishes are cooked by a chef (who also performs traditional Dutch songs in the meantime). Deserts and special coffee (La Falote) are my favorites. Prices are very reasonable. Better make sure to...More

The food is quite vulgar, not even close to as other Dutch food restaurants I have tried. Polite isn’t also the term I would use to describe the service. Really to avoid.

We come here often, it’s an authentic restaurant where delicious Dutch food is served. Ask for the fried/baked potatoes, these are the best potatoes in Amsterdam! And if you’re lucky the cook Peter will bring his infamous accordion out in the restaurant to perform for...More

Various reviews rave about this place, which is why we went, but for the life of me I can’t understand why. It was a huge disappointment, and possibly one of the most mediocre meals I have ever had. The service was excellent, and the accordion-playing...More

We were interested in having some Dutch cuisine and found ourselves in a small neighborhood eatery. I ordered the mashed potato stew (with sausage and meatball) and my husband ordered Dutch stew. These were not stews in the North American sense of stew but more...More

Eethuisje La Falote is a typical Dutch restaurant in the Museum quarter. The best traditional Dutch kitchen in town, more than 30 years. Simple, but nice and straight. Now, we also are open for lunch, starts at 13.00 hs - 4 minutes walking from Museum square - 7 minutes walking from the Albert Cuyp market - Tram nr 3 and nr 5 stops on the corner Our dishes are still traditionally prepared by the chef Peter. That is why the menu includes dishes that fit the season, such as stews and peas with bacon in winter, and in summer salads and fish. The Dutch classic, the meatball, is always on the menu. In addition, La Falote has a daily and weekly changing menu, often with simply Dutch meals. Our kitchen is closed at 9 pm
