Here I was cheated. They took the money from the card 3 times for one order. The same comments on facebook.

This surinamese fastfood restaurant offers variety of surinamese foods. Always big portions, serviced with smile but quality of food is average. Very good location with limited space for seats.

This restaurant is a bit more expensive than most of other Surinamese restaurants but it is still worth it: quick and tasty food to take away and eat enjoying the view at Waterlooplein. A good choice for lunch! Recommendation: pom broodje (delicious). Avoid: kip rotirol (mostly empty rol of roti).

Service with a smile, authentic and fresh food, a lot of choice, but no overkill. Just a wonderful place to go for your lunch or a quick diner.

We have been coming here for several years and still feel that the tastiness and value of this small Surinamese and Indonesian restaurant and takeout is still very good. We had lunch fom there two days in a row this week and will probably go back again before the week is through. This week I am eating the Indonesian sweet... More

For a quick and warm lunch, de Tokoman is always a good address. They have a lot of variety in Suriman style food. My favourite? A "broodje Pom" and a Fernandes. Perfect combination.

I stopped in for a quick piri piri chicken roll to go. They wrapped it in plastic and microwaved it, which I think is gross. I seems their primary source of heating food is by microwave, very disappointing. The roll was bready, and they must mix older chicken and leftover green beans for the filler. Very unevenly heated due to... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
