We were 4. The service was ok, but the food was not acceptable. One steak cold, hallumi cheese ok but with 4 rocket leaves expensive for almost 9 euros. One dish served 10 minutes after the others. A dodgy chicken filet. A martini that was a cheap vermouth. They saw we were not happy and offered a free sparkling water... More

We did not have a good experience at this place, the food was just okay and the chef messed up my wife's meal by only including three pieces of shrimp when it should have had six. When they brought the other three shrimps, they had to be returned as they were under cooked.

I can't speak for the other food here but, the fish soup was horrible. Literally dish water soup with close to nothing in it.. Also, the calamari we ordered was tough. I wish I could say nice things but I can't.

We were so impressed with both the efficient but relaxed and friendly way in which the best Caesar salad we have ever tasted was served that we retuned to Pelangi another twice during our short stay and my wife had the same meal : big helping, excellent flavour. One day I had unlimited pork ribs - great value.

I enjoy this restaurant as much for the entertaining owner and employees as for the food (which is acceptable). Eaten here 3 or 4 times over the years. I have always found the service to be good by Amsterdam standards. Good location to people watch on Rembrandtplein. Now to the woman I believe to be the owner. She is hilarious... More

After have given a wrong drink to one of my friends , which he did not order, the lady which is the owner/manager of the restaurant (extremely arrogant by the way) did not want to change his drink.... Nor to apologize for the mistake , actually she yelled at us in front of other employees and clients that that is... More

We visited this restaurant last year and both loved it so on our return to Amsterdam we couldn't wait to go back! First off, there was one waitress who was running around doing every thing. This is so unnecessary when she was quite clearly struggling. She was either stressed or was new to the job but either way she was... More

We visited Pelangi on our first night in Amsterdam; we were having a wander round and decided to give Indonesian a go. Really glad that we did - we chose the rice table that was around 17 euros per person. We got lots of different meat and veg dishes and really enjoyed them all. So much so that we're now... More

My friends and I had dinner in the Pealngi and we tried the menu 14.50 € with rice, curry chicken, meat skewer (peanut butter sauce) and some kind of fried eggs. It was tasty but also very generous. We tasted the noddles which were good also. The waiter was funny and nice. It is a quiet place which may not... More

We spent quite a while looking for a place to eat on New Year's Eve and eventually decided on this place. Big mistake! The waiters were pushy and patronising, and kept bringing "extras" we hadn't asked for, which turned out to be really expensive. There was a freezing cold draught from the window, and when the appetisers arrived and were... More
