The soup in this place is out this world, from its thickness, flavors, well balanced spices and the ambiance. I went for a Hungarian soup with beef and it was heavenly

Really great soup. Vegan options available. You can either sit in or take it to go (there wasn't much seating when we went around Lunchtime and it's quite small, so we took ours to go.) They come in three sizes and you get a spoon/napkin and piece of fresh bread. Really tasty and comforting in the cold weather.

In a kind of days in which the body and the soul implores for a bowl of steaming soup , we have found this charming little "Soupery" that offers several kinds of Soups and Stews. My wife ordered a Spicy Spinach Soup, my 12 y/o daughter choose the Sweet Potato Soup with chicken and coconut cream, and I've got an... More

My friend and I had a great meal here - I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good value, tasty, warming lunch whilst in the area. We'd visited the nearby market just before and were looking for something to eat - this was a good choice!

We chose to eat here on a couple of occaisons during our brief visit to Amsterdam. The menu changes daily and half of it is vegan. A little pricey but as the saying goes you get what you pay for! I would thoroughly recommend the spicy spinach and coconut.

I was walking towards amsterdam thinking I was getting hungry and what did I fancy. Unusually, my first thought was 'soup' and the second i thought about it, I was outside this place!!! Amazing! Went for the Hungarian goulash soup and it was very good. Came with a roll and was just perfect and exactly what I needed.

Delicious selection of fresh made soups which change regularly. The staff were very friendly and soups and fresh baked bread simply delicious. Just a short 2 minute walk from the famous Waterloopleinmarkt Flea Market this is an excellent place to stop for a healthy refreshment.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
