The restaurant itself is quiet nice. You sit on one of the so called grachten (on the water). The surrounding is just a normal living area. We ordered two different pasta dishes. There was no real taste. Both dishes were boring.

My son who lives locally brought his brother and I here for a few beers and food . Could not fault it , I had the pork loin , they had the chicken in oyster sauce and burger ,we all polished off the food , well impressed and worth a visit if around the area .

Stumbled across this little place and thought it was wonderful. Staff very kind and helpful, drinks very good and reasonably-priced by Amsterdam standards. Atmosphere very warm and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome by both the gent and lady behind the bar. Will definitely go there again.

We happened to walk passed Fossa after picking up keys to an apartment, thought how pretty it looked and how we definitely had time to stop in. It wasn't really warm, or in fact sunny, but we opted to sit by the waters edge as it was too lovely not to. I ordered a glass of wine, my partner had... More

It could have been so much more, situated on a boat. But the coffee is terrible and snacks we had with beers for starters were not good at all (fried stuff). I am no fan.

The place is quite outstanding, with a terrasse directly on the water. However the cuisine has no interest, which is a pity! But nice choice of beers.

With lots of different options and excellent service, Fossa served as a final highlight for our trip to Amsterdam. PROS Fossa has quite a few options on their dinner menu. You can have a normal dinner entree, or as we did, go the small plate route. If you are at the end of a wonderful trip and making one more... More

Been here a few times and are always satisfied even if it's just for a drink or a proper dinner. Highly recommend! (Don't miss Burgers & Beats on Mondays where burgers are 8 euros and there's live music to enjoy. Vegetarian friendly)

We visited this place at the beginning of August 2015. Service was very friendly. Despite the city was overcrowded due to the Gay Pride, we had no difficulties to get seated. Food was tasty and good. This restaurant is kind of a boat and located in the Erasmusgracht. We enjoyed the view during dinner.

Hard Hout Cafe Fossa is more then a restaurant. Its a bar with an international kitchen with 4 starters 4 main dishes 4 desserts that change every 6 weeks and a pretty good event kalender. Je can enjoy nice dishes like a burgers, fish or vegetarian. And every Monday the have live music 'Burgers&Beats'. Every Wednesday you can participate to there pub quiz ( Dutch ) with a Quiz meal voor only 9,50. Enough to do for a nice night out.
