This was quite a special experience and what a joy to taste so many different flavors. We had an extra-ordinary 5 course dinner with excellent service. Good quality of food. Perfect for a business dinner as it is a very quiet restaurant. Good gluten free options.

I guess considering Japan is quite a distance away, the food is average at best. Comparing to the standard in Japan, the food is quite a let down. The sashimi doesn't taste very fresh, and the Japanese rice that they use (or prepare) doesn't feel very refined. A* for Japanese food in Amsterdam, but only a C for true Japanese... More

It was my sister's birthday on 3/02/2017 so we thought we'd treat her to a nice posh dinner. As we were in Amsterdam we chose the Yamazato restaurant! Never made a better choice. The food there is absolutely delicious, the staff are all attentive and kind and the atmosphere is to die for. I would definitely visit again. A big... More

Inside the Okura hotel - its Japan in the middle of Amsterdam and not far from RAI. Number 12 tram Our options for 4 were: Sushi plate with a variety of rolls. Two fish specials - miso cod and snapper Focus on ice cream/sorbet for desert. Our team were not enthused with sake (although the list is predictably excellent). NZ... More

Ate at Yamazato for lunch. Everything was great and the atmosphere is as if you are in Japan. The prices for the lunch menu are reasonable for this type of food.

I will say everything here is just so attractive! A Japanese restaurant with all Japanese staff offering qualitative service. I didn't know it was a Michelin one star restaurant, but we come we feel it. Most of what I have ordered were all so good, things you have to try: omakase sushi, toro, scollops and eel are the best! EEL... More

Already legendary this Japanese restaurant-with-a-star offers the real Japanese experience on this side of the world. Dishes are very traditional and tasty and service is completely in keeping with the style.

We need one of these in Michigan so we can eat it because this is the best place ever the waiters are kinda slow but the food makes up for it.

The restaurant is very nice, definitely made us feel like being back in Japan. The food tasted very authentic and delicious. However, we were expecting something special, something more innovative, which we didn't get. It was a good experience, definitely worth visiting, especially if you're looking for an authentic experience. Would we go back? Probably not as the value was... More
