My wife and I ate here for the second time in June, 2017, and once again had a wonderful dinner together. De Belhamel is a small, boutique restaurant on two levels, and also has a few outside tables on a canal. It is not far...More

Nicely located at the water. The toolet queues seem somewhat long (1 toilet for a restaurant this size: mmmmmh). Good wines, friendly service, nice food.

I had a good meal at this restaurant. The scallop and prawn starter was really well prepared. The sirloin steak was from Dutch meat. A good cut - but somewhat "weak" flavour. The lamb shank was the better choice. Friendly and competent service.

The food is decent and even good although the place will not provide sufficient choice for children. Our meal was enjoyable. However we had made (in person) a reservation for a table outside, overlooking the canal, and when we showed up we were only offered...More

If you are able to reserve a table outside next to the canal, you will have a three-canal view on Brouwersgracht both ways and down the Herengracht. Spectacular. Lunch menu items include warm courses but also sophisticated sandwiches. Service is pleasant and attentive.

Our Viking cruise guide recommended this resturant. Food was great, nice presentation, and friendly staff. Portions are rather small, so recommend ordering an appetizer and/or side to accompany the entree. We ordered the asparagus soup to start and it was heavely. Darling resturant that seemed...More

Lovely dinner in a charming art nouveau inspired setting. Dinner of asparagus soup and lamb osso buco was delicious. When full, it is very noisy.

We wanted a special meal on our last day in Amsterdam and booked from England well in advance. It turned out to be a chilly day in May so we sat indoors at a table for 2, looking out upon flowers and the wide canal...More

I don't remember thinking it was silly. Guess around €15 for dinner and €20-€25 for a bottle of wine

Restaurant De Belhamel is located at the junction of two of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals, the Brouwersgracht (“Brewers’ canal”) and the Herengracht (“Gentlemen’s canal”). It is one of the city’s prettiest spots, quietly situated at the edge of the Jordaan area and offering splendid views on both canals. In summer lunch and dinner are served outside in these lovely surroundings. Not only the location, also the restaurant’s interior is unique: the venue is entirely decorated in the early 20th century Art-Nouveau style, with many original details. The restaurant and entresol give a view over the canals, the bar offers a fine opportunity to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. From 2007 onwards Michelin has rewarded De Belhamel with a ‘Bib Gourmand’.We are looking forward to welcoming you at De Belhamel.
