Look, any place that you pay a flat fee for all you can eat "dim sum" (quotation marks indicative of dubious provenance and quality in this case) in Amsterdam, you have to be a little leery of. I had moved from Shanghai a few months previous, which is a place where the cheap street food is legendary, and so I... More

The food was okay for the price, nothing too special but the prices are pretty low as well so that was no big deal. The interior is not ideal; not very cozy and just one big table in the middle. Then we got to the paying part; the man works there (Maybe the owner?) gave us the receipt of the... More

Good cheap dumplings in Amsterdam's Chinatown. Don't expect too much of the restaurant itself and the waiter, but if you crave dumplings and want to eat rather quickly it's the perfect place. They also have other food than dumplings: ramen, wonton, ravioli, etc.

Besides not being very flashy as other restaurants in the area, this is one of those type of restaurants that gives excellent flavour for a very cheap price, I would recommend to those who would like to be on a budget and eat tasty food.

My son and I grabbed a quick bite at Dim Sum Court after a day of sightseeing. After 1.5 weeks in Europe my son had a Chinese craving and we found this place wandering around Chinatown. We were really happy with our find and I was surprised to read the reviews when we returned. The place is, indeed, small and... More

AVOID AT ANY COST. I had the worst experience in this restaurant. I told the owner I was allergic to seafood and specifically asked for chicken and pork dishes. The waitress didn't even know what was inside the dishes. When I started having an allergic reaction to seafood (for a pork dish), the owner finally admitted there is a little... More

When in Amsterdam. you'll no doubt have passed the china town area of the city. Anyhoo, one lunch time I nipped in for some real Chinese food. The restaruant is small, but perfect atmosphere, quick and efficient service. All in, couldn't complain, cheap eats and authentic selection of beers

Very bad service , the waiter was very rude to us , when I asked to change the table , he was unhappy with us . The quality of food is rather low, the dim Sum I ordered is not as what they shown in the picture . Well , you get how much you pay. But after that ,... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
