The food was excellent, staff was friendly. Atmosphere was peaceful but not too quiet. I definitely recommend.

This little restaurant was busy and lively with good service. The food wasn't top notch but was filling and reasonable and it made a perfectly cosy end to a wet grey day. If you are looking for decent food, a good atmosphere and service at...More

We came here based on the extremely positive reviews and given they had a promotion on. It was an ok experience but nothing like what you read here on the site. The food was ok but to claim this is French cuisine is totally misleading....More

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we returned again several days later. The first time the weather was perfect so we were able to be outside along the canal. The second time was inside. I would describe the menu as eclectic country French. Pleasant staff...More

We were just strolling down the street looking for a pleasant dinner place, and choice Bonjour. Wonderful experience. Great value for their Menu and just fun watching boats go by as their passengers had to lay low to avoid getting bonked by the low hanging...More

We went back after 27 years to Restaurant Bonjour during a recent visit to Amsterdam, not knowing how much it would have changed. It hadn’t really changed at all – same great food, same slightly dark interior. We both chose from the Menu du Bistro...More

Stumbled across this when heading up Utrechtstraat and just turned off and saw it. Slightly tucked away down some steps. Cosy and traditional interior. Service was relaxed but not overly long and we enjoyed a good value menu du chef at 22 euro. House wine...More

Stumbled on the bistro looking for somewhere for dinner. Down some steps, the restaurant is quiet and cosy. Service was unhurried but efficient and the kitchen is open plan at the back so the chef can be seen at work. Our starters were delicious, and...More

This was a pleasant and satisfying dinner in a beautiful (and relatively quiet) neighborhood on the Keizersgracht. We both chose stuffed artichokes as a first course and fillet of duck in an orange sauce for the main. Served with this menu were a salad, broccoli,...More

Open since 1972, Bistro Bonjour French restaurant has an outdoor terrace overlooking the lovely Keizersgracht canal. Set around halfway between Waterlooplein and the Rijksmuseum, the restaurant's central location makes it a popular spot with tourists visiting the local area. Magere Brug - a typically Dutch wooden bridge - is also just around the corner. The menu is a celebration of traditional French cuisine and changes seasonally. Appetisers include steamed mussels, fried frog's legs and French onion soup. Mains are based on fish and meat, though there are vegetarian options, including a dish of the day. The desserts are also just as mouthwatering: chocolate mousse, crêpe flambée and crème brulée are just some of the options. To wash it all down, there is a good selection of French wines. In the evenings Bistro Bonjour is lit by candlelight - a very romantic way to enjoy a meal out in Amsterdam.
