Hi French Food Lovers, I was there today with my mum and it was fantastic. We ordered fish of the day and a tournedos with sauce roquefort. Before the dishes arrived, they bring us some warm bread and homemade butter with some ail and persil in it. Then I felt already that's a nice start. Then the dishes came. The... More

Went back after one year and the chef still recognized me. Always nice! I chose a glass of white wine while going through the menu. Went for the filet pure or ossenhaas with a glass of red. This is actually enough because you always get toasted bread with garlic butter. This resulted in a bill of 32,50 Euro. The difference... More

A cosy restaurant offering quality food which was great value. Our steaks were terrific. The staff were really friendly too and if the weather is good, there is a nice outdoor seating area.

We fell upon this little gem almost by accident as it is just off a main road. The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress a delight. It doesn't look much from outside but inside it is very inviting and intimate. As for the price, amazing for the quality. I had goats cheese with honey (yum), veal medallions with Roquefort... More

This restaurant is not quiet in the Centrum of Amsterdam but in a walkable distance. The food is really good, the have three-plate course for EUR 21.50, a friendly service and if the weather is nice you can sight outside next to the grachten...

We landed there by chance, liked the terrasse, looked at the menu and decided to give it a try. My daughter liked the large salad with goat cheese. I had the salmon which was really average, no real taste giving you the desire to come back. The crème brûlée was nice, well done. Fast and smiling service.

We were recommended to come here by a friend who lives locally, and it was a very welcome change from the more tourist oriented places we had frequented around the Leidseplein. This is a fine French restaurant and given the standard of food and atmosphere the prices are very reasonable - especially if you have the three course theatre menu.... More

Open since 1972, Bistro Bonjour French restaurant has an outdoor terrace overlooking the lovely Keizersgracht canal. Set around halfway between Waterlooplein and the Rijksmuseum, the restaurant's central location makes it a popular spot with tourists visiting the local area. Magere Brug - a typically Dutch wooden bridge - is also just around the corner. The menu is a celebration of traditional French cuisine and changes seasonally. Appetisers include steamed mussels, fried frog's legs and French onion soup. Mains are based on fish and meat, though there are vegetarian options, including a dish of the day. The desserts are also just as mouthwatering: chocolate mousse, crêpe flambée and crème brulée are just some of the options. To wash it all down, there is a good selection of French wines. In the evenings Bistro Bonjour is lit by candlelight - a very romantic way to enjoy a meal out in Amsterdam.
