This is a true Dutch pub. Most of the customers were Dutch. The food was excellent. The service was FRIENDLY and helpful - a great asset in Amsterdam. It is a few minutes walk from the Anne Frank house and near many of the main hotels. Worth seeking out. The burgers are great.

Previously I have been there for a breakfast. This time just by chance I discovered that this place is a great location for a sunny afternoon drink. It is mostly preferred by locals on the weekends. You can stop by for a drink. It can be overcrowded so do ask for a fancy drink but a beer or wine perhaps.... More

Sitting down for lunch to wait 10 minutes to be served, to wait another 15 minutes for a coke, a water, portion of chicken wings and some meatballs, to find out the meatballs are bouncy balls from the freezer. The wings weren't all that bad but definitely not home made.

This is a lovely cafe to just sit and have a drink or a coffee but this time we had a meal and it was very good indeed, the goats cheese salad in particular. Lovely friendly staff too.

Chanced upon this place after finally finding somewhere to park the interior is very traditional and the menu is small but varied the food we had was delicious and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The prices are reasonable considering this is in the city centre and Amsterdam can be very expensive. Try the traditional Dutch food such as Grandmas... More

Black big cat (the symbol of cafe) is now changing to another one (less fat and less black ;) Home-made cuisine, variety of wines, good staff. Dutch & Italian food, very cozy, in the evening quite noisy (but this is more "+" then "-") 👍🏻

An excellent place to stop and have a beer or two and take it all, good service, good beer and excellent views on the canals, what more could you ask for.

Nothing to write home about, but not bad at all. It's a lovely spot on the canal, with a large outside eating area, away from main hustle of town, but busy enough for tourists and the odd local. Nice atmosphere, and the food was standard fare, sandwiches, panini, salad and local dishes such as croquette and bitter ballen. Reasonably priced... More
