Envy is a trendy restaurant with outstanding food with exceptional presentation. The chef is outstanding. We had multi items from the a la carte menu which gave us a good variety. That's the good news. Service was inconsistent with things like water and wine glass...More

Coles Notes version.....Dinner for four proved to be disappointing. Quite a lovely atmosphere but extremely warm on a hot summer's night. We were originally to sit at the high tables but when we saw no backs on the stools, asked to be seated in the...More

We didn't have reservations so seated us on the 'high table', which is a communal dining affair. Not too busy so not sat on top of one another. Stools we're very uncomfortable though. Picked the 6 course taster menu, which is where they choose for...More

We had a 8 course dinner with the wine pairing. Really good food and a couple of very interesting wines served in a very professional way. You can argue that some dishes was more classic than innovative but still very tasty.

Returning several times to this restaurant it always kept its reputation. They serve great quality food. Small portions which allows you to try diffferent things. Very recommendable is the tasting menu where you can pick a 4, 6 or 8 course surprise menu.

It's beautiful, trendy, original and everything tastes very good. Great wine selection. However I don't think I have ever had such small portions in my life. I am small and petite and I do not need to eat big portions but I believe a 2...More

We couldn't wait to get back to envy after nearly 2 years .... What a deception. Everything that used to make that place so unique has gone. The lighting was so finely tuned, that intimate darkness was the restaurant's identity.. Gone. Now the place is...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Is there a strict dress code for this restaurant? I made a reservation for next month and just want to know if I should be packing nicer clothing (i.e. black pants, heels, etc.) I'll be in jeans, tshirt and runners/sneakers for much of the trip so I'll need to pack nicer stuff if it's required. Thanks in advance!

Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.
