When you visit the shop, order your bread and delicacies first and enjoy the a nice coffee of breakfast afterwards. The freshly baked breads and pastries will often not be restocked on the premises, so order them first. Then enjoy a great breakfast or coffee with a croissant, and cycle home afterwards :)

Artisan bread with quality ingredients (and no artificially additives). Ample choice in bread varieties, freshly baked daily. Good place to have lunch.

it is one of the few places where can get unique food, bread, breakfast and lunch. I went there few times to have breakfast. It is great place to discover. I would definitely go back to this place. About the staff, it depends who to get the chance to meet, some of them are really friendly and some not but... More

I've been here now a couple of times in the last 2 years and every time the bread and side dishes taste great. Made from good ingredients, really fresh and full of flavor. I love bread with a hard crust, especially because in the countries I mostly stay the bread is soft and sticky. I prefer well made Dutch bread... More

Surprisingly delicious hummus sandwich! Lovely bakery cafe on Meent street, with an inviting display of bread. Layers of fresh herbs, mesclun and bulgur elevated this humble spread into the best and healthiest lunch I've had. I was transported to hummus heaven!

A lovely place to have lunch with one of the best slices of bread in town or a nice coffee and pie. Also a great terrace to whatch the hustle and bustle of one of the best shopping streets of Rotterdam, the Meent.

Great bread and friendly staff! I stopped in just after they'd closed, but they let me buy some bread anyway. As I understand they don't accept cash, though that possibly could be because I arrived after closing time. I paid with my Visa card from the US, which doesn't have the special chip and does not work at many Europe... More

A very nice bakery-cum-coffee shop where you can get excellent sandwiches. The bread is delicious; once a week, I make a significant detour to get my share. The coffee is good and the service polite and very friendly. Note that no cash payments (only debit and credit cards) are accepted at the Meent shop, which is one of 10-20 outlets... More

Went to Vlaamsch Broodhuys in Rotterdam for breakfast in January 2013 after disappointing hotel breakfast. It was excellent. Tried the breakfast platter with numerous types of delicious bread and different spreads with piping hot coffee and it was first class as was the service. I am back in Rotterdam in April and already plan to have breakfast everyday with my... More
