We went to this restaurant to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We expected some quality given the price and positive reviews. However, despite I informed them it was my girlfriend's birthday while making the reservation, they did not do anything with this information. Then, we took the Zoen-menu of which we liked 2 out of the four dishes (starter: paté and... More

After my 5 stars review of several months ago Le Zoute Zoen is still a restaurant to be recommended for its decor and the quality of the food. It's just that the dame blanche did not taste very good (did not think a dame blanche could be anything but delicious) and the service was no longer superfriendly. I do, however,... More

Food was not special but decent quality. Wine list is a joke. A lot of unpayable wines and by now part of it undrinkable wines. Big part of the list sold out, so no real choice of wines. Never had such a bad wine experience. You do not understand the restaurant business when you run a restauran twithout a good... More

Our winelist currently contains 259 (!) wines to choose from. +- 50 wines from all over the world with prices variating from €22 to €60. It also contains a large stock of french classics (1986 - 2005), all at conciderable cheaper prices then you would normally pay in a restaurant. So our winelist is affordable and cerainly not 'a joke'.... More

I am having some difficulty in writing a review on Le Zoute Zoen but overall it just did not hit the spot for me. Externally the restaurant appears inviting, internally the décor is pleasant and the staff seemed as though they wished to look after us. Us, being a party of seven, in Antwerp to celebrate a very large milestone... More

Let me start by saying that we didn't have to pay for the meal, which makes a difference... Anyway, we had a very nice lunch here. Beautiful setting, very good food and skillful and friendly waiter. One remark, we had a look at the wine list, which was very extensive but prices were just outrageous compared to similar restaurants. We... More

The food okay but overpriced, the service absolutely insincere. Where the restaurant looks nice it is clear they are not very keen on non-residents, the waiters reminding me of a show I once saw at the Folies Bergère in Paris: the moment they face you they grin as if they have a tooth ache, when they turn away the grin... This is a truthfully bad review of a restaurant down the street from where I am living in Antwerp that I previously reviewed very positively-but I must re-review. We will never return after this incredible display of rudeness for no reason other than, we assume, the fact that we are American, speak English, and he assumed we were tourists- the... More

Located in a quiet street in central Antwerp Le Zoute Zoen has a welcoming design. The waiters were friendly, attentive, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is varied and special requests, for example to choose your own vegetarian meal, are encouraged. Good wine selection. Within a short walking distance from public transportation;

Upon arrival, the interior and welcome is extremely pleasant. Huge wine selection. Menu is regularly updated. Great food and always a vegetarian selection. If something does not suit your requirements, the chef is very willing to adjust accordingly. Centrally located to centre of old City of Antwerp

As this was not my first visit to Le Zoute Zoen, my expectations were rather high. The homely atmosphere, the attentive staf and off course the delicious and wonderful looking food made this to a great dining experience. And if you pick something from the "Zoenmenu", even the price is more than reasonable.
