A family lunch, we fancied mussels! Parking is easy so a plus point already. Correctly received and staff masked and attentive, with adequate spacing between tables, and we were at the end in a corner. It was lunchtime so no entree or dessert, 4 mussels...1 fish soup, and frites of course. The fish soup was apparently somewhat lacking in flavour, although the contents were certainly fresh. The mussels diablo were good but perhaps the chilis could have been chopped a little finer as biting into a chunk could be rather distracting, and I am at ease with chillis. The quantities were good, the mussels were well prepared, perhaps a little bit skinny. The moules marinières disappointed slightly as the person found them a little bland. Overall two of us really enjoyed it, two were slightly disappointed and one was OK. The service was surprisingly quick and attentive. It was a little warm so the staff asked to open a door and window close by, not a problem for the breeze, but the wasps were annoying. I'll visit again when the mussel season is more advanced and perhaps a little fuller.More

Reliable classic, fish and fruits de mer. Excellent oysters, and "plateaux" of shell fish. The cheese croquettes were not quite up to standard. Mussels were fine. Good sabayon and the Beaujolais blanc was excellent value.

Food was good and atmosphere very pleasant. The service could have been better: they were not kind when we mentioned we were nine instead of eight and they did not speak English.

Restaurant (mainly seafood) in Wavre in an old barge (how did it get there ?) in the outskirts of Wavre. Attendants polite and up to the task, fast service, excellent lunch menu at a very reasonable price. Fish (and meat) very fresh. Super !

We know "La Peniche" since about than 30 years, since its beginning in fact. Over the years it had its "ups & downs" but you can trust me that they are presently in great form ! Attention to details at every level, inventivity and first...class ingredients make it a renewed pleasure.More

I had a fabulous dinner with family and friends here. The fish was fresh, well prepared and the service was outstanding. It is a bit pricey, however, the ambiance is quite unique. The restaurant is shaped like a boat - may even be a boat...- but docked on dry land. I really enjoyed dining here and would certainly go again.More

There many good places for seafood in Belgium and in the region around Brussels but La Péniche is one of the better ones! Nice dishes and excellent staff. Despite the good food, the idea to build the restaurant in a boat is quite noteworthy too.

We were invited by friends to join them for dinner at La Peniche. Shame they had no oysters, but the quality of the food is undeniable, and beautifully presented. Great service from our arrival to departure. Great wine list.

My husband invited me there last night for my birthday. Nicely surprised! Very good service and nice food. We all had lobster at 43€ a head with some nice Alsace wine. They have a very good menu and are specialized in fish and shellfish. Yes,...would recommend.More
