A proper local Brussels bar/cafe and great place to just sit and read or chat. There's nothing pretentious about this place at all and nothing has been done to tart it up for tourists. It's just a lively place with a friendly atmosphere and good beer (Zinnebir on tap!).

We happen to pop into this strange `beer cafè 11 am one Monday morning, as the Place me and my mates in our beer Club actually were heading for another Place nearby which had not opened yet. Therefore we sat down at the metal Chairs and tables outside this cafè. Why I Call it "funny" and "strange" is that the... More

The beer selection was great, and they had coffee and other drinks. Service was fine, but the real selling point was the beautiful and quaint street it was located on. Lots of locals around enjoying the warm weather.

This was the real deal pub...not touristy, with friends hanging out after work, a guy in the corner doing the crossword, a couple having drinks before dinner...this was it. Hole in the wall sort of character, well lit ambience, simple but just right. With a medley of beers (obviously), and just well positioned to people-watch on the street. We had... More

We came there recommended by a guide for young travelers. We had a carrot soup (4€) and spaghettis (7€). Although the food is nothing special, the atmosphere and the service is very nice. Many of locals come here, so it seems to be a genuine Brussels place.

Great place, that has a great character. Great choice of drinks, great service! It's location bringing some romantic notes to the atmosphere of the place, but it is very live and charging with positive energy. Makes everybody feels welcomed. Specially due to a beautiful cat that lives inside, even though it didn't pay any attantion to us. Would recommend to... More

Our favourite bar in Brussels. Authentic, simple and has so much character - and even a cat who likes to frequent the bar:)

We found Au Soleil by chance while strolling in the streets of Brussels. We came 2 time in this old cozy cafe for a break. The staff is incredibly friendly and excellent advice. They adviced us some local craft beers which were excellent. Next time in Brussels... we will go there !
