The only Brussel's Ramen-Bar that makes me feel like when I visited Japan. Simple, fast and delicious. After closing for some months, Yamato's back in the gentrifying district of St. Boniface, ideal for a great lunch just between the eurocrats and bankers from Porte de Namur, and the Africans of Matonge.

Yamato is a small cousy ramen joint in ixelles, brussels. They serve miso based ramen which is absolutely delicious. Price range up to 13 euro. Also worth a try is the Ton Katsu, fried chicken with rice, very authentic. For two people you roughly end up with a bill around 40 bucks.

Things seem more or less the same as in the past. The preparation process for the ramen is very serious, the same goes for gyoza. You can also try the specially brewed beer from Japanese ingredients. Come and try.

I guess that when you have Ippudo's ramen as a benchmark in your mind, it's hard to be 100% happy with any ramen you'll ever taste after, outside of Japan. Yamato's are fine, tasty and comforting, but I'm still dreaming to find the richness, variety and flavour that I found in Kyoto.

Nice experience, you sit around their open kitchen and can watch them assemble your flavorful ramen. tThe miso based ramen is delicious and warms your belly on a colder day.

I enjoyed the miso based ramen, for dinner, with a friend. The restaurant is very simple, seats are around a counter surrounding the small and open kitchen. There are not too many seats, so I advise to come early. The staff, 3 people, is quite busy and our beers were forgotten, we had to ask twice. Also my friend was... More

My partner and I were looking for a light lunch and noticed Yamato had lots of diners. The place is small, seating a dozen or so but don't be put off. The staff are friendly, welcoming and the service quick. We shared the set lunch and it was more than enough for the two of us. Portions are substantial, freshly... More

Usually I don't give terrible rate but this is for Ramen that I love a lot. First time there yesterday with a friend and ordered tonkatsu miso ramen. miso soup is way too salty to drink a bit. The noodles are fine and I don't get the enormous amount of spring onions and soja. Tonkatsu kind of thin and dried...... More
