This is one of the last family-owned chocolate and confectionery shops in Brussels, something to be much treasured. Their master chocolatier, Michael Lewis-Anderson, also known as the "Cake King", is a true genius and the most wonderful person. There are probably chocolate shops on every other block in Brussels, but definitely get your chocolate here. It's one of the best... More

"Wittamer" is a famous traditional bakery, "chocolate artist", caterer and café. Some tourists prefer his competitor - and newcomer - on the same Place du Grand Sablon, "Pierre Marcolini", who is now in fashion. But "Wittamer " offers still high quality. And drinking a hot chocolate in the 1st floor - café at Wittamer's, for example on a cold day,... More

A classic! If you enjoy pastry, this is the place to be. Know it since I was a kid, and has always been very good to excellent. Sit on the terrace and enjoy, when the weather is nice. Or buy and take your cake home with you.

With an outside terrace on the Petit Sablon and some of the best chocolates and cakes in Brussels what's there not to like?

This is a small tearoom with seats mostly outside. Ample selection of desserts and sandwiches very fresh and rich flavours no matter what you pick. The chicken curry sandwich was delectable. The soufflé in particular was very expensive but very good. Prices are a little above average but worth the visit.

I waited 25 minutes to buy a very expensive cake and the lady was serving everybody who were behind me in the line accept me! I tried few times asking a question and she just ignored! When I left she just turned over and said "Ils sont tous les mêmes" (they are all the same) I guess she referred to... More

dear, Our terraces are full when the weather is sunny. I do not agree with your remark concerning racism. We employ all nationalities and racism is not in our culture. Beside your remark is more a supposition rather than an affirmation. Best regards, More

Yes the pastries are good and yes it's very expensive. 10 euros for a cappuccino and a croissant it's way too much, and the croissant it's definitely not worth the price.. I tried one of their pastries though and it was actually very good. I saw a lot of people getting their pastries to take away and that's probably a... More

Wittamer’s lovely location at the beautiful Place du Grand Sablon, surrounded by world-famous names in chocolate, is a temptation. Delicious little tarts and of course pastries to die for – a must for coffee and cake in the Belgian capital.

We bought some chocolates to go. The chocolates were great, high quality, a bit pricy. If you are looking for some high class chocolate this place is recommended.

I've been a long time client of this patisserie tea-room which has always satisfied me. But this afternoon, Sunday 24 july, the service on the terrace was terrible. A black-haired waitress just hopped around, taking ages to take an order, disregarding the clients who tried get her attention and finally barked "can't you see I'm busy????" My neighbour waited 45... More
